If camera raw have a backdrop feature like Liquify, it will be awesome! Many time it's hard to match the color or a subject or object with the layers that's on photoshop

What is the importance of converting to smart object.

It’s like packaging up layers into a sub-document, within a single layer. You can still double-click the layer thumbnail to go inside and edit all the layers. Smart Objects can also have Smart Filters applied that are fully editable 👍
