💡 A selection of 103 works on paper by 47 artists reflects Johns’s passion for drawing in all its facets. It brings together works from Paul Cezanne to Pablo Picasso to Willem de Kooning, revealing surprising juxtapositions that arise from the way the works are hung at Johns’s home. Behind many of these pieces are stories of personal encounters, alliances, appreciation, and intimate moments such as birthdays or holidays, as can be seen from the dedications that are inscribed on many works.
