I found out while watching Korea media, but they kind of don't really care much about age difference. Since most men need 2 years in the military, they are mostly just don't care much about age in college/university. Plus, a lot of retake student who may or may not spend more time studying or they take year off, meaning romance in college time mean you can expect to meet people in their late 20s or early 30s as well.
I was in Korea 18 years ago and age was the 1st question asked when Koreans meet you. I also went there with a 5 person marketing team and they ignored the girl who was our most senior and interacted with the oldest man who had the lowest position in our team. So my experience was very different but it may have changed.
