Roborock Q5+ trying to connect to wifi (and failing. Again).

  • I purchased a Roborock Q5+ from Amazon on Jan 28th, 2024, on the recommendation of the Wirecutter (www.nytimes.co.... I've had pretty good luck with most Wirecutter purchases, but NOT with this one.
    I first tried to connect it to my wifi for a couple of days, but had this exact same problem 5 or 6 times. So I called Roborock, and a guy went through this same exact process and it WORKED! Woohoo! I went into the app, set up a nightly schedule, and the device worked for a few days, but then stopped. I didn't even realize until a few weeks after that I noticed that my bare feet kinda felt like the floors were dirty. So I checked the app, and saw on the Log that the device hadn't run in a week or two, and noticed that the device was also no longer connected to wifi.
    So I tried again, and had this exact same problem another two or three times, then called Roborock again and a woman could not help get it online. She even suggested that it may be that the device didn't make it back to its charging station for 12 hours and the battery died and that's when it lost its wifi connection. Well, apparently the device doesn't even remember its nightly schedule when it loses wifi, and that's why it hadn't run in several weeks.
    So I also sent in a message on the Roborock Contact Us web page, and the email support has been unhelpful and not even reading my replies to their questions.
    So once again, they want me to tell them the steps I've been through, so I made this video. I'm on the verge of demanding a refund.

    Thanks for posting! Turning off cellular data on my iPhone worked for me!

    Try turn off mobile device’s cellular data. It resolved my connection problem

      Wowww !!! I was going to get crazy with this ! How come they don’t mention this in the instructions ! I spent like two hours retrying to connect ! Thank you so much !

    I have the same problem. I tried to put my phone on the airplane mode and it works now. Good luck 👍

      @@honeybee4195 not airplane mode, as that turns off WiFi. But turn off data mode and leave only the WiFi on.

    Same thing happened to me. Repeatedly unsuccessful with lower speed browser. I just prepared the package for pickup and return to Amazon.

    Like other comments said. Disable cellular data and try again. It worked perfectly after that.

    I’ve the EXACT same issue. I even moved around the robot to different areas in my home (just to see if it helps) but it doesn’t work.
    DRIVING ME NUTS !!! 🤬🤬
