It's nice that Parappa The Rapper and vib-ribbon allows you to do unnecessary inputs without just slapping you in the face, that's the exact reason why I like parappa the rapper games and *CRAVE* for a third part

You might be able to get away with that for more traditional binary input type rhythm games, but many include much more dynamic and space related elements which are not only practical to the gameplay's difficulty but also it's visual aesthetic. I don't think it would be impossible, but it would be very VERY difficult beyond the capabilities for indie rhythm games, and professional rhythm games typically have a different market model which would be incompatible with autogeneration, namely selling additional song charts.
The biggest issue with Vib-Ribbon is that for most songs, the obstacles barely ever line up with the music, due to the simplicity of the game's design. So it ends up that AbeX300 (the uploader) has to do extra movements to make it seem like the game actually syncs up. It's not a problem of AbeX's, it's a very well made video, but it really shows the extreme limitations of the game.

Dancing queen is my grandmas favorite song, and when i was little she used to play this a lot. So, this gives me a lot of nostolgia. She's still alive to this day, by the way.

Well vib ribbon just generates obstacles, game-generated osu maps would probably be very primitive and a lot harder to program
