Dude! You are like that really cool neighbor everybody had when they were growing up that was the one that introduced the lesser cool kids to different bands and taught us all how to play Smoke on the Water the “correct” way. I love your videos and am so glad I found your channel. Keep it up!
Great band and, IMO, one of the best bands in decades, so rifftastic. You were mentioning influences, and in the breaks in "Bees of Spring", to me, it sounds like something ZZ Top would have done back in the '70s.
Yes! :D I'd asked for this quite a while back when I first discovered your videos and saw the cover of Warp Riders on your wall, I've since signed up to your Patreon (first ever time to do that) as your content is always outstanding, I find myself watching videos on guitarists I've never heard of, or never been interested in, as there's always at least one lick or idea to take from it all. So thanks for all your hard work, keep it up! :D
Great selection of songs! Love the Sword. They're kind of evolving away from my tastes, but I love everything Apocryphon and earlier. Seen them in concert a couple times, always a great show. I hear a ZZ Top boogie influence on their earlier stuff. Thanks for the lesson.
,,,,,sweet........didn't hear this while my kids were playing the game,,,cool....very sabbath like,,kiss...and a little iron maiden.......tnx,for this inspirering vid,,,,now where's my guitar....😯
I feel like this video was made just for me. Great content man. I was wondering if you had any advice on what approach you take with tonality to nail their sound so well on Cloak of Feathers?
I'd never heard of The Sword until I saw them support Metallica and machine head during Metallica's Death Magnetic tour. Their sound sucked being a support act, but they made their point.
I saw them on every tour from their first to last their last, the first four albums were great but the last two high Country and used future they basically just gave up on metal and we're pretty bad. Their audiences literally dwindled those last couple tours and then they called it quits / went on hiatus.
Holy moly! The Sword! Amazing Austin band.
I've seen them a handful of times now, I describe them as 'The Riffiest band Ever' :-)
Totally unfamiliar with The Sword, until today! Thanks for the intro and the lesson!
Cool band, they play riffs that makes you grin 👍
I'm a fan of your channel now . Thanks for showing The Sword the appreciation they deserve .

Wow this is a really cool band you always have quality content! Would you be open to starting a Q&A series?
🍺’ski I believe they also were influenced by one of the best earlier doom bands Trouble. Love the Sword! 🤘

I never heard of this band but you know Dave he does his homework lol!!!
I love this band! Saw them a couple times live and they just straight up ROCK. Thanks for the lesson. On a different tip what do you think of Vektor?
Thanks I dig em
Have you done a lesson on Dan and Justin Hawkins from The Darkness?
Love to see one on their songs Open Fire, Black Shuck, Love is Just a Feeling
I feel like this video was made just for me. Great content man. I was wondering if you had any advice on what approach you take with tonality to nail their sound so well on Cloak of Feathers?
Cool🙂
The Sword reminds me of Corrosion Of Conformity. A highly underrated band, by the way, is Motorspycho from Norway. Maybe the best band in the world?
I love The Sword... a little like an alternate universe Mastodon... just a little.
Hey great video can you do one of at the drive in
Cloak of Feathers I believe
Could you please do a segment on Pearl Jam?
That would be awesome .
You’re a fucking legend.
I can't find any tabs for Hawks & Serpents, Hammer of Heaven and The Hidden Masters???
Is there a way to buy some of your lessons without supporting Patreon?
I'd never heard of The Sword until I saw them support Metallica and machine head during Metallica's Death Magnetic tour.
Their sound sucked being a support act, but they made their point.
Dickie Betts lesson he uses the flatted 5th is the allman brothers trade mark sound using the flatted 5th, make a lesson
RIP The Sword =(
Video is awesome though!
Anything by symphony x would be killer from you
Would love to see you cover royal blood, I know it’s bass driven but they’ve got some amazing riffs you should check them out!
High on fire/SLEEP

To me personally, they sound like Black Sabbath and COC had the most beautiful ugly baby
Peace/Piece In, Yo and All!!!
