Hello Jashii - I’ve been a demonstrator with Stampin Up and I can give you a couple little tips. While it is important to have a stable surface to stamp, you don’t want a hard surface underneath your page. A thin foam pad is the perfect thing to slip under your page but if you don’t have something like that, just try to find something that has a little resilience to it is perfect. I have a soft rubbery type protector for my desktop, and it works perfect. Just something to cushion the page from an overly hard surface. Another little tip is to clean your stamps, most folks use a water soluable stamp ink - like the Tombo markers - and if you have just a small cell sponge that is damp. You can just wipe the surface of the stamp across the sponge and it’ll clean as slick as can be. Reds and dark pinks, etc will stain your stamps - But it doesn’t carryover and you can stamp in any other color. If you ever have any questions, give me a buzz.

When I stamp I always keep a blank sheet of paper next to me. I load up my stamp with ink and then stamp it in the scrap paper first. I have learned that it never stamps beautifully on the first try. It needs to get primed with ink first. So I will try a few times on the scrap paper before stamping in my journal. I get better results that way. It takes longer but I get less of the stamp stamping halfway in my journal. I hope this helps!

I recently saw a video about “conditioning” stamps by using a gentle white eraser to remove any oils left on the stamp from its production, before using the stamps.

Either take an eraser or a nail file to "rough" them up to help the ink or Tombow to stick. I'm still figuring out the best way though.

filing the stamp ruins the surface you just need to rub them on your hand or wash with soapy water to remove any manufacturing residue.

Just thought you'd like to know that there's a lady here on RUclips named Laylebymail who has worked in crafty places and has wrangled together all the very best planner supplies you could ever wish for in one concentrated shop. Instead of trying to tackle a huge stationery place like Jet Pens that is heavenly, nevertheless, she has specifically picked all the best items that are extremely useful….and wantable! Have fun!!!

Their customer service really is great! My sub box wasn't anywhere like the depicted colours, and the quality was so disappointing, and they actually refunded it straight out instead of sending a gift card code, which one would expect so that the money stays within the company.

What about stamping onto label/sticker paper? That way you can turn them into stickers as you build your confidence. And if you don't like it, you just stamp again.

I hope the day is going well for you Jess! I was just wanting to see if you could tell me what online shops are good for bullet journaling as well as with washi tape and stickers? As I've told you previously, I'm new to journaling and I've already bought the 2 A5 journals, one which I have already completely finished, which was definitely a learning process. I'm somewhat unhappy with the way it turned out due to lack of washi tape until the end and also not really wanting to use my scrapbook paper cuz it was just too pretty to use. But I'm going to suck it up and use it on my next journal but I would like to know some good places to get the things that not only you use but that Erin Smith uses as well. I do understand you both are in Australia and I'm in the US, that's why i asked about online shops. I've purchased washi tape from temu which turned out ok and decently pretty; I'm just looking for something with better quality and quantity; something i can write on as well as stays put. Thank you so much for your videos and the time you've spent making them. You are so incredibly talented and I really enjoy watching them; the accent is definitely a plus as well. 😊

My go to favourites are definitely Archer & Olive ( bit.ly/AOxJC ) for journals and The Washi Tape Shop ( bit.ly/TWTSxJC ) for tapes 👌 Both are high quality and I use heaps of their products 😝 Also have good things to say about stickers from Journalsay ( bit.ly/JoSaxJC ); I'm using those a decent amount in my new journal at the moment for some easy decoration 😊
Because we love savings, I've got discount codes for those too which you can find at bit.ly/JCDiscounts if you're keen 🤙 Hope that helps!

@@JashiiCorrin I do, the paper is a little rougher than Tomoe River, or A&O paper but I can get a b6 with 3.5 mm dot grid which is my happy place. Plus a couple of other customizations that aren't the norm on most journals. It's pricey, but I'm worth it.

I had some stickers in my youth group craft supplies lose their ability to stick, but that just ends up being a good excuse to teach them how to use glue/modpodge/etc.
