There is always a way to talk about everything. Like saying that since she did get trow the reunion and drive herself to the hospital it was probably not that bad after all. Plus the sympathy for a nice superior getting in trouble over this. It's miserable, but these people just like their old boss more than OP, even if OP is in the right, nothing more.
Reminds me of a post I saw with a woman helping out (at her own job) at a (I think) fast food restaurant. Turn out she'd given birth the previous day. And she was such an angel for helping out during the rush (even though she didn't have to)
I wish Story 1 were made up, but it’s amazing how extremely unhinged people can get on a power trip in an office setting. Seen it myself and thankfully got out, but it’s really hard when you don’t have the self-esteem to recognize how bad things are. And unfortunately it keeps people from seeing the initial red flags in the first place. I doubt the boss was great up until that point. The office culture sounds cult like. My friend is actually dealing with that right now.
Damn how are those coworkers in the first story all such bootlickers? It's not like they're getting paid to buly a pregnant woman. That boss shouls be fired and should never have responsibility over anyone ever again. Kudos to the husband for standing up
😂😂😂 Story 1 is definitely a crime OP. Idk which one, but it's definitely something you can sue for. He endangered a child and the mother by ignoring a medical emergency. Then intentionally created a hostile work environment as a retaliatory measure when you told on him. He's an asshole and he and his good ol boys have a special spot in hell
Story 3- Why does OP's step mom want a gender reveal partly so bad? She knows the gender and OP's opinion on gender reveals. I also agree with OP here. I think gender reveals are kinda weird. If people want one that's fine, but some of the parents' reactions to the gender is kinda.. over the top sometimes.
That first story never happened. It checks all the rage bait boxes. I also find it curious that the boss in question is so well-liked, despite being an a-hole. That must be a first for crappy bosses.
For the first story first of all no company cares about you fuck them, secondly I work for a construction company and by extension alot of subcontractors and one of these subcontractors had a good guy well call him Bob,great worker good person took mat leave as his wife doesn't work and in my country you can take it if she doesn't or split it half and half and that's fine but what isn't is the subcontractor made it clear that if/when he takes it he won't be hired back.
Considering the one comment about how the OP should suck it up like their wife i'd say that no one there has a good grasp on womens anatomy or how childbirth works. And they're probably taking the baby coming out healthy as some kinda justification for forcing her to stay. Like "nothing bad even happened, you're just overreacting", instead of realizing that the OP and the baby were put in danger by forcing her to sit through the pain and stress of active birth for hours. Safe to say that no one there particularly likes women or at least pregnant women in the workplace.
Story 1: this whole situation makes me so pissed. First of all, screw op’s co-workers for isolating her after she left to GIVE BIRTH TO A HUMAN BEING. I.. I can’t with these people what is going on in their mind? To hell with that company!
I wonder if it's a male dominated field. A lot of women have horror stories about how they were bullied out of their careers. And having everyone treating her like that over her pregnancy and childbirth is just over the top misogynistic of everyone there.
At least one thing my country does right is give 2 months off after birth for both parents and up to 2 years for one parent - usually the mom, but if the couple wants to be the dad, they can do that too. All paid at their last year's salary by the govt.
I'm not condoning what was done (I also live in a place where she'd be off on maternity leave already, with a minimum of 90 days paid leave for maternity leave, the dad would also get a minimum of 90 days) I've just gotten myself into a confused state. I'm a woman so I think I should already know this (also considering my sister has had 2 kids, and my niece has had 1). Isn't the longest part of labour the "passive" part? And "active" labour is the short part where the baby is actually coming out? I've watched a lot of Mama Dr Jones, and I know she's talked about it, but I'm forgetful, and also not embaressed of asking because I do want to learn 😅 On another note, I'm 100% sure that those are mostly male coworkers. Because those comments and behaviours are unacceptable (and imo must come from people who have no idea how pregnancy works)
@@lina9535 I think you're referring to the latent phase, that is technically the longest and least painful part. This is only the first phase of the first stage of labour though. It also can take place over weeks, and the contractions tend to be less noticable. So yes the first phase of labour is the longest but given the length of time it can be going for that doesn't make the other phases/stages short by any means. Now the next phase is the active phase and by that point contractions will absolutely be painful and that's the point where there's no doubt what's happening and is probably where she was at. There's third phase to round out the first stage of labour so that the body is finally ready to give birth and there's two more stages after that. One for birthing the baby and the other the placenta. Even not including the first phase it takes a long time. It's also recommended women in labor get to the hospital as quickly as possible since its safer for the process to be monitored so any complications can be caught early as they are easier to fix and handle if they are.
Story 1: madam! You need to get an attorney and sue the company for damages. What happened to you and your daughter should’ve never happened (in fact you’re lucky that your little girl is even healthy considering the delay that those jerks put you through.) I may be a young woman in my mid twenties, and even I know that this is unacceptable behaviour and this is a toxic work environment. But if I am not clear, you’re NTA.
S1: This situation has "lawsuit" written all over it. She SHOULD have already been on maternity leave, given she was quite literally almost ready to give birth. Her manager and coworkers have created a hostile work environment. They've already started retaliating, and she's not even there. Quit, get legal counsel, and file for a lawsuit.
Story 5: OP needs to cut out ANYONE who sided with Lisa after she explained it initially….it should not take an extreme statement like “why don’t you let her sleep with your husband” to get people to understand that if someone doesn’t consent to an open relationship they shouldn’t be pressured into one.
I also have a sneaking suspicion that if OP had agreed to an open marriage and slept with another man Lisa would have used that to try to steal OP’s husband and kick her out of the friend group
Lisa’s even worse than she originally appeared if she already approached the husband and he said no and she’s still pushing. She’s not just a (potential) homewrecker, she’s a predator. OP’s husband clearly said no and she still thinks if she can manipulate OP into saying yes then it’s a yes. Husband isn’t a piece of property, he’s a person. If he says no, it’s a no, even if OP were ok with it. Lisa isn’t just not hearing “you can’t sleep with my husband,” she’s ALSO not hearing “you don’t have my consent to sleep with me”.
Came down to say this exactly. The fact that the other two women even entertained her predatory bs is enough reason to cut them off entirely. Had roles been reversed, it would've been a no brainer for these women that this is sexual harassment, but because it's Op's husband, suddenly it's reasonable to consider.
Pads are way less likely to cause toxic shock, with tampons it can happen in 12 hours so some people dont even realise pads can cause it too. Three days is so disgusting. All that bacteria growth has to be absolutely rank.
Hostile work environment, etc. sounds like classic boys club BS. None of them are doctors and that meeting probably could have been an email. Had her water broke it would have been a panic!
And the thing is too she could have organised a baby shower and that would have been an actual nice gesture since OP likes those. But no it was about what she wanted.
Post 3: Why do so many people feel they have rights to any aspect of another person’s pregnancy? Unless you are one of the parents, you don’t get a vote in any decision.
Story 5: Not being polyamory is not the same as being close-minded. Most people prefer exclusive romantic relationships. Relationships with only one romantic partner. And some of those are cheaters because they lack the emotional capacity for having an actual open relationship or a poly relationship. Relationships are based on mutual understanding, communication, shared values, and respect for one another. Maybe there are only a few people for whom monogamy works long term, but still it's what most people want. Those who are in committed monogamous relationships and suddenly just up and ask for open relationships that are usually one-sided are just hoping for a cheat pass.
"that's how YOU feel, LISA !" I swear I can imagine Vincey in the mall with the girlies and his acrylic nails saying that, sassy Vincey is mi spirit animal.
@@DaBaseBallZ I think there was some crossed wires here. When you said "then did she why go out of her way to fully make one?" Oasus seems to think you were still talking about the OP. Technically with how you phrased it that is a reasonable read. But obviously based on context you were talking about the MIL. The crazy thing is though if the MIL wanted to throw a party the OP literally had no problem with baby showers.
Story 5: OP is NTA, but she needs to find out now whether these feelings her "friend" has for her husband are reciprocated, because the last thing she needs is to be blindsided by the fact that her husband has been cheating for months. ETA: So she asked him and he said even if he would be interested it wouldn't be with her. And then she bypassed him to ask OP? What, did she think OP would just order him to have sex with her?
In the 1st story all of the calls for legal action are spot on. I almost died and ended up spending 3 days in a NICU incubator because my mom delayed getting to the hospital when contractions/ labor started.
Welcome to a new day of "cooking with Vincey" the daily show of my life! I love to hear Vincey's voice while making sure my kiddo get a healthy, nutritious meal! Today we are cooking rice and peas with pan fried chicken with veggiesticks! Bon appetit!! 😍
Story 1: OP you say you really love your job but I have to ask why? Everyone is harassing you for doing the right thing. You need to find an employment attorney because this is a clear cut case of retaliation for rightfully reporting your supervisor.
She did say she was only 8 months pregnant. Of course, the boss should have still let her leave. What he did was the equivalent of making a guy with severe chest pain stay.
Day 38 of telling the Vincey Fam god-awful jokes I've heard on the internet: Why did the animator pass away? Because they couldn't draw their own breath.
Story 5 is this video's Soap Opera™ story. It feels weirdly dramatic and this is not to say that I don't think it's real or anything like that, it just feels off for some reason.
16:13 omg no , I have a open relationship do you know what I ask someone like within 10 messages with someone I'm flirting with? I am in an open relationship is that something you are okay with Because they need to know not tomorrow not 6 months from now not a year from now today right now because open relationships is not something you can force on someone else if they learn that's something they are into they'll learn it in their own time as they should
Granted, I should know this.. But "active labour" is the last part of labour isn't it? Like when the baby is emerging? Or have I finally lost my marbles?
S2: Maybe it's just me, but if my mom did that at a crowded mall, I'd just look at her, deadpan, and say "mom, you don't have tourettes, stop embarassing yourself that's not okay"
Me: Uh oh… the “bad hygiene” title implies that it’s period related. This is gonna be some uneducated dude saying something dumb about periods! Me after listening to: Well… I was half right. Story 1. I don't know about other countries and didn't catch where op is from but if shes in the USA whats happened and is continuing to happen is 100% against federal law. She needs to familiarize herself with employee rights and contact an employment lawyer. This is clear violation of the Civil Rights Act. Even though most places of employment have some kind of poster of the Civil Rights Act hung up somewhere, a lot of employers actively try to keep employees from learning about their rights or scaring them to keep them in line. People, stop letting employers abuse you, learn your rights, most employment lawyers I know work pro-bono (you pay nothing, the ones you're suing cover the legal fees if you win your case) if you have sufficient evidence for guaranteed victory.
I would assume the US. She mentions being at work while 8 months pregnant (which is already not typical for a fair share of EU countries, where maternal leave is often required or at the very least allowed/protected by law to start 4 or more weeks before the due date). She then mentions being back at work despite only being a month postpartum, which is completely illegal in most EU nations and many others around the globe. And repeatedly states being afraid for her job, it is entirely illegal in the EU to fire a woman for being pregnant or any consequences thereof, while also prohibited in quite a few US states afaik in most EU countries this protection even extends to any other reason for termination to a point where an employer would need to prove gross misconduct to be able to fire a pregnant woman
A lot of states don’t even have mandated maternity leave paid or unpaid. 😭 I’ve seen mothers scramble to use all of their sick days, vacation days, or whatever they have to put together some sort of maternity leave for themselves.
A lot of the women I've worked with work as long as they can because the six week standard maternity leave is very short, they want as much of that time post baby as possible...😢

Those who are in committed monogamous relationships and suddenly just up and ask for open relationships that are usually one-sided are just hoping for a cheat pass.
No
@@tfordham13 What was objectionable here?
"that's how YOU feel, LISA !" I swear I can imagine Vincey in the mall with the girlies and his acrylic nails saying that, sassy Vincey is mi spirit animal.
Story 3:Bruv,If OP outright doesn't want a party, then did she why go out of her way to fully make one?
That is unoptimal beyond words,NTA
Did you even read the story?
@@itsOasus did you?
@itsOasus
I think you need to do so many times if you're asking this question
@@DaBaseBallZ I think there was some crossed wires here.
When you said "then did she why go out of her way to fully make one?" Oasus seems to think you were still talking about the OP. Technically with how you phrased it that is a reasonable read. But obviously based on context you were talking about the MIL.
The crazy thing is though if the MIL wanted to throw a party the OP literally had no problem with baby showers.
Story 5: Why. What. What. What. No, OP, you're not TA. Especially after the husband said he wasn't interested either! What??
Why was my comment deleted???? Let’s try this again:
Obligatory algorithm support. OP in story 1 needs to quit and sue them! That’s illegal! 🤦🏻♀️
YT has issues with the algorithm and hides legit comments for no logic reason. Although the spam bots get through with no problems whatsoever.
Story 1: sue for hostile work environment
Story 5: OP is NTA, but she needs to find out now whether these feelings her "friend" has for her husband are reciprocated, because the last thing she needs is to be blindsided by the fact that her husband has been cheating for months.
ETA: So she asked him and he said even if he would be interested it wouldn't be with her. And then she bypassed him to ask OP? What, did she think OP would just order him to have sex with her?
Because she doesn't see the husband as a person just an "experiment,"
2:32 these men istg bear bear and bear
Throwing a party you know someone doesn't want is such a dumb waste of your own time and money 🙄 nta maybe she's jealous?
In the 1st story all of the calls for legal action are spot on. I almost died and ended up spending 3 days in a NICU incubator because my mom delayed getting to the hospital when contractions/ labor started.
Welcome to a new day of "cooking with Vincey" the daily show of my life! I love to hear Vincey's voice while making sure my kiddo get a healthy, nutritious meal!
Today we are cooking rice and peas with pan fried chicken with veggiesticks!
Bon appetit!! 😍
Simple yet delicious 🤤 ❤
What the heck was that first story, damn
Story 1: OP you say you really love your job but I have to ask why? Everyone is harassing you for doing the right thing. You need to find an employment attorney because this is a clear cut case of retaliation for rightfully reporting your supervisor.
1- NTA, time to get legal help!
My biggest "wth" in the first story is WHY ARE YOU NOT ON PREGNANCY LEAVE what is america????
You answered your own question…and I think the sheer hostility of OP’s boss/company culture answers the rest.
Garbage 😞
She did say she was only 8 months pregnant. Of course, the boss should have still let her leave. What he did was the equivalent of making a guy with severe chest pain stay.
Day 38 of telling the Vincey Fam god-awful jokes I've heard on the internet:
Why did the animator pass away?
Because they couldn't draw their own breath.
Or they did draw out their last breath 😂

Story 4: she needs to feel gross and wrong
Story 5 is this video's Soap Opera™ story.
It feels weirdly dramatic and this is not to say that I don't think it's real or anything like that, it just feels off for some reason.
Nothing better than a Vincey vid after a long day!!!! Thanks for saving me from boredom :)
Agreed 😊
I thought today's video was going to be a compilation, as I saw the duration and instead of 20 minutes I read 200 minutes

story 1: that is INSANE. They’re mad at her for GIVING BIRTH?? That guy was an asshole why is everyone so mad at her?
Story one: i dont care, everyone in this story cares more about their career, mother and father included.
This whole video is just American problems
16:13 omg no , I have a open relationship do you know what I ask someone like within 10 messages with someone I'm flirting with? I am in an open relationship is that something you are okay with
Because they need to know not tomorrow not 6 months from now not a year from now today right now because open relationships is not something you can force on someone else if they learn that's something they are into they'll learn it in their own time as they should
The first story had me seeing red. Like are you kidding me?!
Story 5's husband is a fucking savage :D

Hey I'm from Canada so like are yous asleep while I listen ? Anyways you make the 10 hour days fly by thanks man keep up your good work 🎉
Good lord, the coworkers in Post 1 are some goddamn bootlickers. Imagine caping that hard for your employer.
Story 1: Are any of the people in that place real? Are they just linked in pilled or something? Are they robots? Everyone in that business suck.
Me: Uh oh… the “bad hygiene” title implies that it’s period related. This is gonna be some uneducated dude saying something dumb about periods!
Me after listening to: Well… I was half right.
I would have thrown her out. That is disgusting and, more importantly, disrespectful. He sounds like a good guy.
I love that you always refer to cats as beautiful. It's nothing but the absolute TRUTH and I'm glad you make sure to remind people of that fact. On behalf of the dozens of photos I've taken of my cats simply sitting in the sunlight, thank you.
Post 1: Sounds like retaliation for your complaint. Call a lawyer.
America be like: My boss didn't give me permission to leave for giving birth to my child so I set through a 2 hour meating and the drove myself to the hospital
Like seriously... what's wrong with you guys?
Hey Vincey! I know you may not see this but I am listening to your video on my lunchbreak. On day 3 of my new job after months of searxhing and nearly giving up!
I was trying to figure out why anyone would be on Lisa’s side in story 5! That request was so out of pocket!
My internal monologue is Vincey. Great voice, I enjoy listening to your videos while I save lives
So what does the husband say about Lisa? Um what the fuck?

Lisa is Delulu.
Did they want her to have the baby in the meeting?????
her maternity leave was only a month????????????????????
I would apologize for being "possessive" because I love this channel and the Vincey fam...
Except I don't want to. I'll continue to do love y'all and no one can stop me.
@@C.L.Hinton same! I’m not sorry hahahahaha!
Okay wait one thing about story one that caught me off guard (and there was a lot) one month or less of maternity leave?? What?? Is that even legal?
A lot of states don’t even have mandated maternity leave paid or unpaid. 😭
I’ve seen mothers scramble to use all of their sick days, vacation days, or whatever they have to put together some sort of maternity leave for themselves.
Working up to 8 months pregnant is disgraceful in the first place.
Worked as a teacher last year, and had a pregnant teacher friend working up until like a week and a half before her due date
A lot of the women I've worked with work as long as they can because the six week standard maternity leave is very short, they want as much of that time post baby as possible...😢
The post at the end saying they’re proud of how far I’ve come was nice to hear while working out
Story 4:I once learned that bad hygiene negates any and all good qualities of a person,Now I know why,NTA
Wow
