It kills me that you have to justify every thing you’ve packed in there, because you know for a fact some saddo is going to judge you! Does it really affect anyone else if you over pack? No. You pack what you’re comfortable with! As a mum twice over and a student midwife, I can say you’ve nailed it! So excited for you Imogen!! Xx
Honestly no one needs to justify "how much" or " how little" they take in their hospital bags. It angers me because everyone has a different idea of what is necessary and take what ever you want to the hospital and what will make you feel comfortable during your time there, that's all that matters. I've been pregnant 2 times before, I'm pregnant with my 3rd now and even the last 2 times I took a decent amount and still had loads that I forgot or wish I had taken. Yes people can always bring you more stuff if you need it but for me personally knowing what I have and taking it with me knowing what I have and where it is makes it so much more less stressful and makes you feel more comfortable during your time at the hospital. I don't actually think "overpacking" is a thing tbh but imo it's better to take more than less instead of in the middle of the night realising I wish I had this or that and not being able to get your hands on it.
I would love an update on what you actually use while you're in hospital, if thrre was anything you didn't need and things you should have taken in. So exited for you guys. Not long now!! 💞
can’t believe how quickly your pregnancy has flown by, I just know you & Spencer are going to be the best parents to your little one! can’t wait to follow you guys on this journey🥺 love from a small youtuber💞
Haven’t watched the full video yet but my life saver during labour was a water bottle that you can drink out of from all angles, so you can drink while laying down, on your side etc..
You’re just the purest angel ever, you can pack as much or as little as what you want babygirl, this is your pregnancy, your birth, your choice! Whatever makes you relaxed, calm, happy you do that!! I can’t believe how fast your pregnancy has gone though, I still remember the day you announced your pregnancy!! I can’t wait to meet babygirl, I love you lots!!🥰
The biggest advice I can give for labour is to breath, and focus on breathing, your body is built for it and will guide you, trust yourself and don’t let others influence you on your decisions, it’s your body and your baby and you both know what’s best, your going to be the most amazing mum and dad and with every bit of pain it brings you closer to meeting your precious little one, keep hydrated and pack energy bars that you can have a munch on quickly, also you can get bra extenders to help that bra fit you a bit better, good luck hun I’m so excited for you both 😘🤍 xxx
Its so exciting packing the hospitals bags! Btw dont worry about being cold on the maternity ward! They keep it warm for babies (really warm lol). Best of luck with everything! Cant wait to watch you all as a family 🥺🥰 xxx
Loving your videos :) I would say ditch the lemon shower gel and buy something very gentle as you may find the lemon gel really stings you! Ouch and you don't want that. Thanks for all the great tips, the labelled bags are such a great idea :)
I literally love you. Been watching you since your first ever video and I couldn’t be more happier for you and spencer. Your little girl is going to be so lucky to have you as parents. I’ve got a little girl my self she’s 5 months and it’s the best feeling. Wish you all the best xxxx
A big tip I got from my brother-in-law is to buy the same brand dummies as the bottles you've bought. Apparently leads to less confusion for baby because they will recognise the teat. Hope this helps ❤️
I’m 27 weeks with my third baby boy & watching this has made me really want to make a start on our bags! I’d definitely recommend packing a travel changing mat as you usually end up just changing them on your bed & it can get a little messy, also some milton sterilising wipes to wipe down dummies if you use them & also your little table as everything gets dumped on there then they just plonk your food on it too.. Loving following your pregnancy journey & hope everything goes well for you all x
I am so happy that we have got to share this journey with you, can't wait till baby girl is here and we can share more amazing memories! You are going to be an amazing mum and Spence is going to be an amazing dad! Luckiest baby girl in the world x
All hospitals are different but the one I work at is free parking at the minute due to covid,so hopefully it'll be free for you as it can get expensive. I doubt you'll need 0-3 months clothes. My heaviest 2 children were 9lb and they still wore newborn. I love how you've packed flameless candles and essential oils. All the best hun and if they offer you painrelief (gas & air, pethidine) take it. Don't be scared you'll be fine just listen to your body. Xx
I had a catheter in after birth so only really wore nighties until I went home. The always discreet boutique underwear were a life saver.. the pad is so big that it acts like a bit of a cushion aswell as you're rather sore! A cup with a straw was so helpful because you don't want to lift it up all the time. Not sure who said about air con but babies need to be really warm after birth so the rooms are usually very toastie rather than cold. I put my son's outfits in separate bags so my partner could just grab a bag out for me.. he had no idea what all the clothes were. I took a pack of 25 nappies and were plenty..lucozade sports for energy..hope that helps xx
(I'm sure you do already know this) but, perineal bottles are designed for when you go to the toilet after birth to that you can avoid getting irritation from the tissue so Spencer won't need to do it for you like you said in the video.. they are really easy to use 🥰☺️ and honestly if you have to have to have stitches down there I cannot recommend it enough but also actually use it whilst weeing aswell as in at the same time) because your wee can really sting if you've had stitches 🤦🏻♀️😩 good luck and you and Spencer are gonna be amazing parents 😩😍🥰❤️xxxxx
I took some pain medication with me for the night time after I had baby as personally I didn’t want to disturb anyone in the middle of night ! Wish you all the best 💗

The ready made formula is just incase you don’t get on with breastfeeding, they don’t supply you with hot water to take the powder but the ready made is so handy can get them from most superstores 💜
Feels so real when you start packing your bags, everyone said I was being abit extra but I ended up with an emergency c-section and baby girl Alivia pooped inside me so gave us both an infection! Only just home yesterday after having her on Sunday so definitely helps to be prepared for anything! Baby girl is perfect tho and sooo in love, glad to be home to daddy 😍💜 so excited for you for when the time comes there is no better feeling than seeing your baby for the first time 🥺❤️ xx
Just so love you and your journey!! I’m sure you have thought of everything and I can totally understand the over packing!! Can’t wait to see you as parents and to meet this beautiful baby girl! 💕💕🤗🤗
when you were talking about taking formula to the hospital and then said ‘i’m probably wrong’ i literally nearly cried. idk why it just made me so sad for no reason 💖
Don't worry about being too cold as the hospital have to keep the hospital hot/a certain temp for babies on the maternity ward. I feel the cold and I gave birth in January and I'm telling you now I was sweating it was like a sauna so you want a fan and a water bottle with a straw, going through labour you will need to drink lots as you'll get so dehydrated, it really takes it our of you but so so worth it! So excited for you and Spencer xx
I love how organised you are! I got sandwich bags for nappies ect 🤣! Go to home bargains and get a bottle with a huolt in straw its a life saver! I'm so excited for you girl motherhood is the best journey! It goes so quick though my little one is 7 months already 😩♥️
Glad to see you have some black PJ trousers if you have alot of bleeding you may not feel like wearing white or grey, defo loads of big black granny knickers incase you have section too 💓 good luck angel xxx
Awww Imogen, that story at the end is the sweetest 🥺🥺. So excited to be on this wonderful journey with you. You and your husband are going to be the best mum & dad to your baby girl. Can't wait to see her when she arrives 🥺❤🥰xxx
Fluffy socks? Water bottle is a must, you need to keep hydrated. Changing mat? We took extra nappies and kept them in the car just in case. Good luck you will do amazing xx
I live in America (diff med system) but was born & raised in Canada (pretty similar to uk) and I am genuinely interested in why she has to pack cotton wool, maxi pads, diapers for baby & mom etc... Doesnt the hospital provide all of that? The amount of taxes that pay for the nhs, I'd want to take advantage of anything free. My friend had a baby recently and took home so many cans of formula. And that's in the us. Lol I am so obsessed with the UK so Im very curious.
I have children 3 boys 1 girl I had my first at 16 and each birth was different, I had epidurals with 3 boys but with my little girl my water went it was really quick from that point so didn't have time for epidural and so glad I didn't it was totally different experience and I was more awake less tired and remembered everything more clear but I found straddling the headboard of hospital bed best worked with gravity and helped loads staying quiet and focused for breathing threw each contraction really helps and is biggest tip. You will feel love like never before when u see ur little girl for the first time nothing beats that feeling at all which is why we ho threw all the pain again n again. You have done so we'll threw all the stress of renovations and totally get the nesting thing it is something only a pregnant woman knows,Good luck you both will make beautiful parents love is the key thing a child needs and use too have bucket loads! 🥰
I think you’ve done with great with the bags! I overpacked a little but its better to be safe than sorry! Especially with your first. Better to have things just incase rather than wishing you had brought something with you! Can’t wait to meet baby girl 💖 also, we used mam dummies at first and then nuk and stuck with nuk after xx
Make sure you have some of your favourite music to take with you, it is good to help you relax and chill out during the labour. I can’t believe you are 35 weeks already, it has gone so quickly, with a blink of the eye baby Horton will be here! XX
Im an over-packer too :) and there is NOTHING wrong with it. I would just bring Allergy friendly snacks for you too after its over you'll be hungry :) postpartum padsicles in the freezer before you leave for the hospital because they help so much! So so so excited for you to have this experience and meet your daughter. Huge huge fan of you guys and im thinking of you! Cant wait to see you two as wonderful parents! Love you so muchhh!
I cant wait for baby angel!!! And for your home to be completed! Such a big moment in your lives!!! Love you all!!! Also shout out to Ben salad and hugie!!! ❤
Thoroughly reccomend getting a Boppy!!! (Horseshoe shaped pillow) I bought one for my Son, but I ended up using it to sit on, as I had to have stitches. Lavender oil too. I was told by my midwife to have Lavender and milk baths, as it helps heal the birthing area. I used to look forward to my baths. Don't forget snacks and drinks for during labour and your phone charger too..... Was just going to say take your own pillow, and then you said it 😊. Xxx
I dont know how it works in England, but in switzerland where i live, and gave birth to my 2 boys, you do not need to take anything but clothes and personal items, and clothes for ypur Baby the day you leave the Hospital. I dont think ypu need that much, but iff it makes you feel good ans calm, take what ever you want❤❤❤. I wish you, spencer and your lovely little girl the very best. Love from switzerland ❤
You’ll will definitely want something light to wear in the hospital as it’s soooo hot in there .. I love being cosy but wow the maternity ward is another level lol! So happy for you both ♥️♥️♥️
I always enjoy watching your videos. Your just so full of life and are grateful for everything you have which is a lovely quality. Your new bundle of joy’s gonna be here before you know it and I know you and Spencer have so much to do to the house before then, but take it easy and remember to have some you time because once your little one arrives there’ll be very little time for much else. You’ll both be amazing parents I’ve no doubt and looking forward to seeing the next chapter in your lives unfold. Sending love ❤️
Best to over pack than under pack honey and take a variety of baby sizes if you can! With my first baby we were in hospital for a week so even though I took enough stuff for a couple days I still had to get family to bring me more things & go out to buy tiny baby clothes because nothing fitted her she was so small. I think your first labour in generally a longer process. With my second baby I was in and out in a few hours I didn’t use barely anything from my bag x
You are amazing!!! Your going to be such a perfect mummy!!!! Spencer is going to be the best day ever!! I’m so excited for you guys to become parents 💕😍💙
You don’t have to take pre made formula! I didn’t, and it really helped me with my breastfeeding journey, it pushed me to carry on even though it was so painful at first. I’m a year on now and love every minute of breastfeeding and sooooo glad I stuck to it! Best of luck hunny xxxx
I wish I over packed because we had to say in hospital for a week with complications but Best of luck when the time comes I’m so exited for you, just stay calm and focus! I know you’ve got this 🥰
I loved watching this as it reminded me of doing my bag 2 years ago when I had my son. I never got any tiny baby or newborn and my son just wore up to 1 month size. He was born 8lb 3 - we always have bigger babies in our family. I ended up using that many nappies as I had to stay in after as I had to have surgery in the end so its good to take that many to be safe.
You are so right. On my first I thought I had loads and didn't have enough. Needed extra night dresses and vests for baby. Better to be prepared. Remember you could be in labour for quite long to and you will go through night dresses during that time to. 😍😍
I’d say 0-3 months would be far too big, get some up to 1 month vests and sleep suits if you’re worried she’s gonna be big. I also found socks and scratch mitts useless, I lost mine they were so small, just used sleepsuits with built in mitts xx
My little one was only 7 and a half pounds but was straight into 0-3m due to very long legs. Completely caught me out as I’d mainly packed smaller sizes as my first baby was only 4 pounds!
Hi Imogen!!! 15w preggy here ❤️❤️❤️❤️ havent seen your whole video but I could not wait to tell you that you should take ausonia boutique discreet for the hospital! After birth, women lose some blood, so you should check that out!! Kisses from Portugal 💗💗
Our trust provides it if you’re planning on BF and end up needing it, if you’re planning on formula feeding then bring it. very much doubt any trust won’t give you some if baby desperately needs! Save the space 😍
Yes you do with formula. My midwife said just get the baby cartons there £80 pence from boots and once opened you can keep for 8 hours in the hospital fridge x
I’d recommend taking size 0 and size 1 nappies just in case she’s extra tiny xx you’ll be surprised how many you use! They say the do as many poos in the first 10 days as how many days old they are if that makes sense xxx
Highly recommend the biggest pads you can find..i used kotex nighttime both times, its like sitting on a pillow so helps your bits after birth and anything smaller than them youll be changing every 15-20 mins max! 😩xxx
You only need to take a formula starter pack if you are planning to formula feed. If you are planning on exclusively breastfeeding you don’t need to, in fact it is advised not to as if you definitely want to breastfeed it is much easier to ‘give up’ if it gets tough if the formula is there x
Wow 5 weeks left its flown for you both its exciting packing hospital bags . As regards Dummies my Daughter has found the Nuby newborn ones the best every baby is different as they come in different shapes her first born liked the flat teats where as new baby prefers the cherry teat ones so might be best buying both kinds.
I’m so excited for you ! You are going to be the best mummy to your little girl 💕 I had my baby girl in may this year and honestly it’s the best feeling in the world there is no love like it and I can’t wait for you to experience it 💕
So excited for this video absolutely loving seeing your pregnancy journey and so excited to see you and Spencer becoming parents Also I overpacked but that made me feel at ease incase I stayed longer otherwise I worried incase we needed anything
I’ve just found your page as I’m 36 weeks and watching this has really been incredible! You are so lovely and warm! Did the expert midwife spray thingy work? Thank you so much for such a relatable video xx
I would definitely pack more than 1 pack of nappies. They poo so much in the first couple of days. You don’t know how long your gonna be in. But as Spencer won’t be staying over night he can bring more up. I’m due my second two weeks after you. I feel so sad as dads aren’t allowed to stay in the hospital for more than 2 hrs a day for visiting their babies 🥺🥺. Like you I’m also due a baby girl after having a son already. Girlie shopping is the best 💙💖
Those sanitary towels aren't going to be thick enough lovely, you need proper maternity pads, not even the incontinence knickers just big fat maternity pads. Take 2 packs at a minimum and make sure you have the rest easily to hand at home so Spencer can bring them in if you have to stay in Xx
Entirely up to you, but you don’t need to take formula, I didn’t take any formula as I knew I wanted nothing to get in the way of our breastfeeding journey. We are nearly 13 months into our breastfeeding journey and have never bought any formula. I did take expressed colostrum in with me (something you can do from 36/37 weeks, highly recommend looking into colostrum harvesting). Sippy water bottle, the straw ones so it’s easy for you to drink - this was amazing before and after birth. I took a bit of make up and skincare in as it was a nice bit of normality for me to do. A tip someone told me was to pack baby’s clothes into “sets”, so a vest and sleepsuit in a bag together, so that all you needed to do was grab one bag, not an item from a few different ones - this was an amazing tip! Another tip is, you don’t need to use nappy cream. I bought so much nappy cream thinking I needed it all, then read something that said as long as baby’s bum doesn’t have nappy rash, nothing is needed. 13 months nearly and my little one has never had nappy rash and never used any nappy creams. Highly recommend lucozade sport. Baby socks, H&M, tesco You look absolutely glowing! I’m so excited for you and Spencer. Congratulations and good luck on your parenting journey. It’s amazing, enjoy and treasure every moment x
This has flown by can't believe baby girl will be here soon! She's so lucky to have you two as parents ❤ you look so so amazing highlight is POPPING what have you got on!? Xx
I wasn’t allowed any electrical because they hadn’t been ‘PAT TESTED’ also some essential oils are dangerous - I’m a holistic therapist and nurse , so there may be non safe for staff and other patients. Likelihood you won’t be in hospital more than 24 hours x
I was in the hospital for 8 days, 3 day labour and 5 day hospital stay. Shes packed perfectly my husband had to bring extras for me as we used everything and believe me when i say I regret not overpacking
Xx

She’s just such a pure soul that doesn’t want to be judged it’s so sad 💗🥲

Amazing couple you don’t deserve the crap you get. Love you lots
Honestly no one needs to justify "how much" or " how little" they take in their hospital bags.
I can’t believe that time has gone by so quickly I can imagine how excited you guys are I hope you do have a lovely weekend 🎉🎉
Watching you grow has been the most amazing thing ever , your going to be the best mum ❤️
I have children 3 boys 1 girl
I had my first at 16 and each birth was different, I had epidurals with 3 boys but with my little girl my water went it was really quick from that point so didn't have time for epidural and so glad I didn't it was totally different experience and I was more awake less tired and remembered everything more clear but I found straddling the headboard of hospital bed best worked with gravity and helped loads staying quiet and focused for breathing threw each contraction really helps and is biggest tip.
You are looking radiant!!! so exited for you and Spencer, can’t believe how quick it’s gone!! Baby girl is so lucky to have you and Spencer❤️❤️
I'm so happy for you Imogen. You are very responsible and loving. A good example for a young mum. Have fun! Peace.
I love you! Your so amazing I can’t wait for your baby to be here! She’s going to be the most beautiful princess ever xxx
I cant wait for baby angel!!! And for your home to be completed! Such a big moment in your lives!!! Love you all!!! Also shout out to Ben salad and hugie!!! ❤
So exciting!! Love the joy you are showing with this important first step on your adventure!! 💛💛
Xxx
Can’t believe the time has gone so fast! This was so lovely to watch can’t wait too meet babygirl
I can't wait for your daughter to be born !! I will cry so much when she will be born 💜💜😭
Can't wait to see baby
Muslins were my best friend I used to use them all them time they were so handy
Loved this video! One extra thing I would suggest is taking your own toilet roll (yes they have some but it's not always the softest) xxx
I can’t wait to see you both with your little bundle of joy!🤩♥️🥰
Just make this journey your own ❤. Listen to your own body and mother's intuition and go with the flow xxxx
Awww times gone so fast you look amazing I'm so excited for you guys 😩❤️❤️❤️
Gosh this creeping up quickly! How exciting baby girl will be here soon! X
The set with vest with born in 2021 is adorable your glowing💗xx
Ahhhh this video is so exciting!! Only seems like a month ago that you actually announced your pregnancy🥺 can’t wait to see your little girl tho🤍
You are so right. On my first I thought I had loads and didn't have enough. Needed extra night dresses and vests for baby. Better to be prepared. Remember you could be in labour for quite long to and you will go through night dresses during that time to. 😍😍
So excited for you!!! Hope everything goes perfect🤍🤍
@@louise4420 oh wow! Good point, you can easily forget about the length factor x
I’m so excited for you guys and I still bet on baby girl being named after a flower 🌸
Take it easy over the weekend darling xxxx
Yes you do with formula. My midwife said just get the baby cartons there £80 pence from boots and once opened you can keep for 8 hours in the hospital fridge x
Can't wait to watch excited for you and spencer your going to be the best parents ever 💗xx
Feels like just yesterday I was watching you announce you were pregnant! I wish you the best delivery Angel!! xx 😭💗
Super organised! :) one thing that may help is a spare bag to put any washing in :) good luck with everything :)
YAY I WAS WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO YOUVE MADE MY DAY
Wow 5 weeks left its flown for you both its exciting packing hospital bags . As regards Dummies my Daughter has found the Nuby newborn ones the best every baby is different as they come in different shapes her first born liked the flat teats where as new baby prefers the cherry teat ones so might be best buying both kinds.
If ur feeding and just have the nipped balm close that also works as lip balm. Wonderful stuff
I’m so excited for you ! You are going to be the best mummy to your little girl 💕 I had my baby girl in may this year and honestly it’s the best feeling in the world there is no love like it and I can’t wait for you to experience it 💕
So excited for this video absolutely loving seeing your pregnancy journey and so excited to see you and Spencer becoming parents
Also I overpacked but that made me feel at ease incase I stayed longer otherwise I worried incase we needed anything
Take 2 packs at a minimum and make sure you have the rest easily to hand at home so Spencer can bring them in if you have to stay in Xx
this video is so heartfelt and you are going to be the best mum 💖
Baby socks, H&M, tesco
You look absolutely glowing!
Xx
😉 BABYGIRL I got you coming soooooon xxx
@@Imogenhorton. NO WAY. 😱 I could cryyyy with excitement
I wasn’t allowed any electrical because they hadn’t been ‘PAT TESTED’ also some essential oils are dangerous - I’m a holistic therapist and nurse , so there may be non safe for staff and other patients. Likelihood you won’t be in hospital more than 24 hours x
Every labour is different I was in hospital for 4 days, so she’s packed perfectly
If they’re natural essential oils I highly doubt they’re dangerous :) they can be very beneficial in lots of ways
I was in the hospital for 8 days, 3 day labour and 5 day hospital stay. Shes packed perfectly my husband had to bring extras for me as we used everything and believe me when i say I regret not overpacking
