Or is the tax collected going into YOUR account and YOUR responsible for remitting it to the states? I assume it's the first example..... LOVE the content lately!
Thanks for watching! Etsy & printful both collect & remit to states. Etsy collects from the customer as an additional transaction fee. Printful collects for YOU. So it's double tax
I've started using etsy ads until my items have a lot of favorites, then switching items. I've noticed that even if something doesn't sell a ton through ads, it'll get pushed to the front page with favorites and you can shut off ads for those items. Now i push ads just for items with more competition to get them pushed up a little more.

I got suspended within 1 day of adding my first printful product and then waited for about 5 days before their integrity team got back to me and said it was an error that sometimes happens. I have another Etsy shop and it has never been suspended so who knows but I did notice that my first printful listing did not show printful as a production partner on the listing on Etsy, even though I had listed printful as a production partner on the printful platform (they link to your store so the listing can be created in printful and then it can be published in your store) so I still don't know exactly why the suspension happened but I assume it was something about that first printful listing, and possibly the listing missing the proper production partner info the first time I added a printful product. Cindy hi. I just saw your comment and thought I’d reply. 😊 It’s best to do quarterly taxes when you owe sales tax. That way you can pay every three months. Less stress. I don’t know know about taking them out auto. on Etsy. Hope this helps.

I am confused about the sales tax thing. For starters...I am in Canada. To me,my shop would be a Canadian shop so I see it as being responsible to pay sales tax to Canadian government. Buyers are buying from my Canadian shop. Is that not the case? (Actually,if I have an online shop then Canadian govt does expect me to charge Canadian sales tax...) So does this mean if someone from a US state purchases from my shop... I have to remit sales tax to their state AS WELL? That makes no sense. If I open a shop here...I dont pay tax to an American buyers state.

I wish I had seen this last week - I just opened a shop, had some sales and then was closed by Etsy without warning. I've emailed them several times already. Guess I just have to wait now. I also had to email all my customers letting them know the situation because it looks like my shop just disappeared and I absconded otherwise! I want to send them out their products but if Etsy don't reinstate my account it will be at a huge loss to me. If I get reinstated etc I will suspend listings myself and take them elsewhere, honestly.

I got denied about 2 weeks ago and yesterday they sent me an email saying they had issues with my tax information. It turns out that I didn't have my name exactly as it is on my tax forms. I put a period after my middle initial when on the tax for it wasn't there. I fixed it and it said it accepted the change but was still denied. So I changed my email and reapplied with the proper info this time.
I recently pulled all of my pod products from Etsy, because of the very long shipping times. I've had to give refunds because of the long delays in shipping. Printful is claiming the delay in shipping is due to COVID, but long shipping times have been a problem for a long time, especially during Q4. It's just not worth the frustration to me, looks bad on me/my brand with my customers.
Try Printify. Last week I had a customer order a print and was submitted at 9 pm. It was printed and marked for shipping the next morning and didn’t take long to get to the customer. And she loves it.

Is it okay to list that photo showing the storefront of that small business? I now it is perfectly legal to have taken the photo since I was not on private property when I took it. But does it infringe on Etsy's policies?

Then, I doubled down my research on the topic and found my options, I even called the IRS and they had no clue either, until I escalated the call to speak with a Senior advisor. Then I got a better answer. So when in doubt , call the IRS and escalate up above the entry level minions, because they don't have a clue either.

Right now the Merch approval algorithm is a bit buggy but Amazon Merch is 100% worth pursuing (Prime-eligible POD products on the world's #1 ecom website is a no brainer 🙂)
I created Etsy for POD, uploaded 3 shirts (pretty sure no IP, infringement claims) and 1 day later they deactivated my account without any messages. Also tried to contact their support but guess what, I have to login to be able to contact support but I cant login because my account is deactivated 🤪. I also thought of recreate a new account but from what I read, any account related to you old account, old IP or PC, will be automatically banned. Bye Etsy!

when you make sales on Etsy when do you get paid? If I sell today, do I get my customers money in 2 weeks?? In a month?? In 6 weeks??

I think If you provide Resale certificate to Printful, you don't have to pay state sales tax
Then you also inherit the responsibility of remitting taxes at the state level

You do not owe sales tax on most resale products so if you have the resale certificate and Etsy remits the taxes for you then you are fine.

The etsy ads are still terrible, the sellers have zero control apart from choosing which listings are advertised. It is shocking

Maximize coverage on as many free websites as possible. Online real estate is much cheaper than "real" real estate 👍🙂

Not everyone gets the auto-suspension, but I don't think you can avoid that one if it happens
