True but also when I've hear other sidemen tell the story of how sidemen began, they all say it was named that because they were all sidemen to KSI who had a way bigger following. But in this KSI says it was because they were sidemen of each other so I don't think he's actually that egotistical in real life

But I've watched Simon's video where he says it came about because when it was just the original four, before Vik even came along, it was a running joke that Simon was JJ'S sideman, and Tobi was Josh's sideman. So when the others joined, the joke became that they were all JJ's sidemen.
This is one of the first videos I've seen of JJ being a serious person and not just being jokes for a video

I think they succeeded because they did it all in a very planned way.

The crew was the group that started it all, big inspiration for a lot of youtubers for example Sidemen, vanoss, h20 delirious, nogla, and lots more. Although they "fell off" i still find them as one of the funniest youtubers in the world, they never changed and thats what i really like about them. Vik still plays with speedy and side every now and then which is pretty cool as well lol but yea the crew always been my inspiration in having fun while gaming. Instead of being so serious of because the best

For those who might not know. JJ and simon were best mates at school, as much as josh and tobi were too. They joined together with ethan to do the first pro clubs series (which came first fun fact!) and play gta. Then vik and harry joined as stated. (Taken from Simon/josh's own accounts).
Also if anyone knows the truth behind this do say, but is the "sidemen XIX" based on the fact they were created on the 19th october, xix being 19 in roman numerals

Pretty sure I found the Sidemen through Speedy etc. I was much younger then. Don’t watch any gaming videos anymore was surprised to see this on my recommended. It I haven’t seen any KSI in ages I wondered what he was up to.
