The 2015 studio album from the UK's Metal masters. An epic journey of all-conquering Doom Metal steeped in woe and despair.
Special Edition: bit.ly/1RyKSqs (presented in a deluxe earbook format with a 40 page booklet, and includes a bonus disc featuring alternate mixes of album tracks, plus Feel the Misery on 10" vinyl)
Using 'The Raft of Medusa' by French romantic painter Théodore Géricault as visual inspiration as well as taking cues from the bands own bleak and foreboding music, My Dying Bride's latest video is a harrowing tale of tragedy and loss.
Filmed on the stunning Pembroke coast of South Wales and in particular, St. Govans Chapel, the scenes were set to play out the narrative as vocalist Aaron Stainthorpe takes the role of a lone musician and poet who stumbles upon a fallen maiden while combing the seascape for curiosities. Clearly the victim of a recent shipwreck, she is gathered up and removed to a suitable, sombre resting place, all the while the mournful 'Feel The Misery' plays alongside, marrying the rich visuals with the melancholic song.
Directed by James Sharrock (www.invadetvproductions.com/) & Ryan Mackfall, James explains “The concept for "Feel the Misery" has been in my head for a while. It is loosely based on the famous painting "Raft of Medusa" by Theodore Gericault painted in 1819, and when I heard the song it invoked the creative idea I had been thinking about.”
Bringing the video concept into context James continues “In May this year I read in the news reports of a "Ghost ship" carrying 350 starving Rohingya Muslims vanishing off Thailand. Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand refused to engage in search-and-rescue operations, instead pushing the boats back to sea, letting the people starve and refusing to accept the asylum seekers - similar to the story behind ‘Raft of Medusa’ . It was only later in the year as we were filming the music video down around the Pembrokeshire coast that the media took a greater interest in the deaths of asylum seekers in the Med. The song has allowed me to bring to life not only issues that are currently facing us all, but a masterpiece that reflects a similar tragedy from centuries ago.”
My Dying Bride’s latest opus and 12th full studio album, ‘Feel the Misery’, is set for release on 18th September on Peaceville Records

These guys make misery less miserable. More misery please.
I concur
Thank you you get it
Still the greatest of all the gothic/doom bands. Time did not change them. Aaron's voice... always a lament of desperation and grief and anger. Lovely
😅😅😅😅
My dying bride saved my life. I couldn't get over the loss of my loved one, I was shattered and literally fall out of life. And somehow I started listening to their songs, the songs I adored during my school days nearly 11 years ago. After a while I felt getting stronger, getting healed. Their music has become an integral and very private part of me. I got tears in my eyes, writing about this. Everything they create means so much to me, no words can express how grateful I am...
From Ukraine with love.
With love from Ukraine too! MDB is the best therapy ever \m/
And me twelve
No it kept the empirical wisdom alive
..justike dharma.. born death dissapointment.. since u dont own the universe all the variable r not vary according to u.... like or dislike it gonna operate according to its governing law
..it not give a fuck about u....
why do people post billboards like this on the internet, I find it creepy.
With Ukraine in the heart🤘🛠️🖤🇵🇹🇺🇦
I know they've been around forever but I swear they just keep getting better.
love isn't the word for this band......its more than love to me.....OBSESSED maybe....hmmm I just can't get enough of MDB
Aaron Stainthorpe is one of my favorite vocals.
[sorry for my bad English :)]
@Michael Kilgore Some native speakers have problems with using their language properly...lol... I am Polish and I have a friend from the USA (huge MDB fan by the way) and he says that I speak English better than some of the Americans... haha
Worlds greatest DoomMetal Band Ever in metal Today. MYD. MY DYING BRIDE.
+IRONJAY Retacco *cough* paradise lost *cough*
+Albert Suchan No. Sabbath, My Dying Bride, Amorphis then Paradise Lost
The Melnibonean
Opinions bruh
+IRONJAY Retacco
Dude you should check out A Dracula by Demon Lung. My fav doom album.
+IRONJAY Retacco
Quite possibly. I think I would probably class them more as a gothic metal band than a doom metal band but that's probably because I listen to more gothic metal than doom metal (it's my favourite style of metal) and this bands work sounds very slimier to all the goth metal I listen to. I mean they sound a lot like Theatre De Vampires but without the female lead singer.
Made me cry but that's what I needed. Cathartic :)
Favorite band!!!!!
What a great song! Pure magic.
Granted, the magical music. It is a storm of emotions.
MDB...never failed me!!!!
the song and the video are both amazing
Misery feels slightly bearable. Thank you MDB
The music of neglect.
The words always reject.
Feel the misery
Some claim it's tragedy.
Some claim calamity.
Feel the misery.
Do not waste happiness
Or sing for loneliness.
Feel the misery.
Follow the falling path
And take every single lash.
Feel the misery.
A riot of beauty,
Lacking in dignity.
Feel the misery
Is it worth the wait?
Is there hope for me?
Can it really wait?
Let us watch and see.
The fairest flowers fade,
Stolen away by shade.
Feel the misery.
Love is full of fear.
Loved ones soon disappear.
Feel the misery.
These are the words not of,
Of one who kneels to God.
Feel the misery
The music of neglect.
The words always reject.
Feel the misery.
Some claim it's tragedy.
Some claim calamity.
Feel the misery.
Some blame the moon above.
Some blame a missing dove.
Feel the misery.
Thanks
I first heard MDB...back to 1995 ''The Cry of Mankind''..from the album The Angel and the dark river. Since then I have been impressed...
I am looking forward also for one more masterpiece album from MDB, the band which is one of the biggest in this music genre...!!!
+Yiannis Drosos That was the first MDB track I heard, too. Had it on my first mp3 player.
+James De Vile I believe that the song '' The Cry of Mankind '' from MDB ... is a masterpiece that even now that I hear it... still causes to me a shudder...!!!
+Yiannis Drosos One of the best song and album, because of the lyrics, the music and specially because of the undertone.
+Yiannis Drosos thats the best mdb song
+iskander x ...for Me "The Cry of Mankind" is one of the best...because if I say the best, I will injustice some songs from MDB ... which are just as equal as the "The Cry of Mankind"!!
MDB has helped Me through alot of tough times, this band is special to Me,listened to them now going on 23 years of sorrow!
I was painfully worried about the death of a friend, the oppressive melancholy did not give me peace, the days passed but the pain did not let go, and suddenly this particular MDB composition appeared. The music pulled me out of the abyss of mourning, I moved to the chords of Andy and the overwhelming voice of Aaron, trembling rolled through my body. it was over, the pain was gone ... I began to live again!
Great song accompanied by their most beautiful video so far.
How i love those refined references to Ophelia and Le Radeau de la Méduse
This could very well become the greatest song of 2015 for me
This video is already awesome by itself, the music is only the gem over a cake of gold !
Extremly powerful guitar riff !
this is amazing, a true jewel in distress!!!!
haunting, beautiful, one of my all time favorites... hails to My Dying Bride!
i listen to my dying bride since more than 12 years !! the only thing i don't like that it always makes me depressed it gets me into sad mood but still like it :)
2015 is being pretty amazing for new albums so far :D
And a triple album by Swallow the Sun is coming out this November !!
+spindive I haven't been following Swallow the Sun properly in ages. This is good news!
Очень люблю МБД.Слушаю с самого начала.
the opening has a vibe from 34.788% Complete
Beautifull song! My mind is break and rebuinding
Such a beautiful song, I loved it.
Un seul mot me vient, il s'agit d'un superlatif: BRILLANTISSIME !!!
I feel misery by not knowing this song earlier in my life...
Erie and beautiful song and video, listening to this band for 23 years they are very meaningful to Me!🛤🚂
Like beer, broken dreams and misery itself, MDB has been there for me since "As the flower whithers" and have been as just as reliable.
What a great Song, Pure Magic, The Best
Awesome music and clip. Dying Bride on the top of their art.
Inspirational and sincere.
So touchin'...
amazing!
This is my first time hearing them and my god they awesome and very grim sounding which I like 🤘🏴🤘
The new album is absolutely stunning!
MASTERPIECE !!!
Congrats guys!!! beautiful!!! My dying bride is great!
I don't know how people have felt about My Dying Bride in the last 15 years, but having Calvin back in the band really brings back those old feelings from Turn Loose/The Angel/Like Gods. I know he didn't write much of it but something is really kicking in when I hear this new album Feel the Misery! Hamish was cool and I wish him the best, but I'm excited about My Dying Bride again! I think I could die happy if they went on tour with Dark Tranquillity and I got to see them!
+AlucardsQuest i still miss the keyboards & violin of their first albums
+iskander x Where are you know Martin Powell ;)?
This is my favorite song from this band. I will walk to my class and listen to them
incredible band
preordered...should come today...cant wait!
'Oh I do like to be beside the seaside! Oh I do like to be beside the sea!'
One of the best songs they ever made!
Fantastic riffing💜🖤
Excelente banda
Calvin is back and with him, the truly doom metal sound of My Dying Bride! Greetings!!
Good stuff. Looking forward to the album!
WOW LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Feel the doom
Masterpiece
I follow you since the 90's
This is one of the best metal videos I've ever seen
I bless this band, amen.
Album in my collection, thanks for vid.
My Dying Bride nagrali kolejne wielkie arcydzieło!
Mizantropiczny Kociak Wiem przecież, stwierdzam fakt tylko.
Я человек простой вижу клип MDB-ставлю лайк
the masterpiece
In my opinion this has been the best MDB album since The Dreadful Hours!!!
My Dying Bride. A beautiful band. I can't count the times their music have helped me through hard times. I wish they would come to America more often.
It's a GREAT music!!!! i got luck to meet them years ago when I went VIP into the HelFest and behing the scene :)
very good.Respect to MY DYING BRIDE.stay authentic
Aaron playing violin... that's new to me.
glad they brought it back it made Turn Loose the Swans so beyond epic
Me playing violin? Haha salute
Good!!!!
There‘s always been something so ascetic about Aaron.
“God and I have shunned them”, that’s what I mean.
To God he says no, meaning yes. Very insightful.
My Dying Bride, always in my soul
Wow. Such goff.
i like it
This is expressed art.
Good song and very nice video!
My fave band of all times!!! Back to their Doomy Glory!!! ^_^
I wasn't sure about it in the beginning; seemed a bit easygoing at first but once the violins and keyboards kicked in I started feeling it and then those resonant riffs towards the end sealed the deal. This track definitely gets better the further in it gets. If this is this album's The Poorest Waltz or Bring Me Victory then I think I'm in for a treat.
I feel it
one of the best albums in 2015
Yeaaaah!
Maravilha..
Inspiring makes my life tolerable ❤️ Aaron should do poetry classes because he has a creative mind
that. was. bangin
Same here
why i am always so late to discover this beautiful bands
Das Musik ist Genial.
The first time I heard My Dying Bride was way back in '95 when they were the support act to Iron Maiden.
Haha yes me too. I was 14. I had heard Cry of Mankind on a Kerrrang cassette and was really into it. I remember they had a terrible reception at that gig. I was getting into it and my mate was just laughing.
\m/ Yes! I just bought the album even though I have unlimited listening pleasure.
The interludes are the best part.
Their interludes were always epic, especially on Like Gods of the Sun.
🖤🔥
FEEL THE MISERY !!! GOOD DOOM!!!
Sunken Dream!
Feel the misery pierce your soul and thank Aaron stainthorpe for making you feel it horns up 🤘😈🤘
Hell yeah Thank you Aaron and co. ! That is why this band is so great, because with each song you can definitely feel the misery! Yet they make that misery feel so good!! To find beauty in misery..... people that don't understand call people that can relate weirdos, lol. Some of us find that depressing music actually makes us feel good! For those that can appreciate great music, I salute you!
i didnt know the released a new album !!!
been so long ..
DOOM brilliant song, excellent video. Please tour the UK soon!
MDB are the best, and all was will be the best in there genre. I find every album , including this one, to be nothing but sure brilliance, and originality. This could be there best clip yet. Best band ever...oh Im not biased at all.
Can't wait to see them live in London!
+Mizantropiczny Kociak ja też :)
+Mizantropiczny Kociak ja też z północy :) więc poziom zniecierpliwienia taki sam :D
AsarathHHH Skończyły mi się argumenty. :/ Tak czy inaczej, pewnie się tam zobaczymy. Już odliczam dni. :)
I can't think of many (any) bands that have put out as quality of material as MDB. Especially given how long they've been at it.
