I actually love the Yamanaka clan, I love how they're basically telepaths. Ino should have been written to be more of a sensor/genjutsu healer instead of a boy crazy girl. It just reminds me of how bad Kishimoto sucked at writing females.

They have an excellent development actually, but only in the light novels. The anime transposed just a small part of it into the shikamaru arc (from shikamaru hiden), but the reason why Ino falls in love with Sai in the novels is truly handsome, and it has nothing to do with his looks

We did had a ino and sai moment post war arc when everyone was at their 20s in shippuden, we also saw some shikamaru and Temari moments and naruto’s weeding. I wish they did more episodes in their 20s than boruto tbh.

Obviously the scene in the novel was much deeper, but they put it anyway. Also, it must be said that they are side characters and almost no love story in Naruto have a REAL development , except Naruto and Hinata in the movie. Kishi is not good at all with the romances, he admitted it himself, he just spread some scene for foreshadow it, but, however, shikatema and inosai are well written in novels

It’s never easy to perfect a long standing, traditional family jutsu such as the Mind Transfer jutsu. But for Inojin, I guess it seems necessary, since he was mostly incomplete in terms of jutsus for the better span of a few years. Maybe now he’ll be a little more complete in terms of his abilities and become way more effective than he usually is now, especially since Shikadai’s the new Chunin and all!
Naruto had the right idea with Hinata. Boy's got 2 kids while everyone is still on 1 and I think the only reason why he doesn't have more is because he's swamped with Hokage work.

Did Inojin just learn the Mind Transfer Jutsu in one afternoon? Or did he train before? The point of the old generation's jutsus was that they were hard to master because extrememy difficult and were taught to the Yamanaka kids very early. It used to be a very powerful jutsu, not just something you can do 2 minutes after asking your mom to "teach" you..
I could be wrong, but I think he's at pre-timeskip Ino's level at most; he now has the basics down, but he's nowhere near a master, as seen by his failed attempt to use the jutsu on Ino.

I’ll be honest while ino and sai’s relationship barley had development, they’re one of the better couples in the franchise.

The writing in this show is lazy because it used to take actual effort to learn jutsu, and now we have these characters learning things like the Butterfly Mode without even paying attention to the lesson on it. Now we have Sarada learning how to use her Sharingan as well as Itachi could with NO ONE around to even explain to her how the Sharingan works. Now we have Inojin learning a super complicated technique like the MIND TRANSFER JUTSU overnight.
