weeping means sorrow; gnashing means great anger and darkness means great seperation according to the study of old testement; and hebrew phrases. These have nothing to do with physical tormet neither is the word eternal used to describe these words in the passage. it is describing great emotional tormet at both the actualization revelation before them in the moment but also to there current circumstance of being seperated from ,life,light and love which is GOD. it is there backlash towards Gods judgement to them not the physical punishment. it in no way refutes the eternal death penality as taught through out all scripture but rather sheds further support to its fact.
