Leather Britches -- 5 minute drill

This is a practice technique where you set a timer and play the same song until it goes off. It could be any length of time, but 5 minutes is a good place to start. It's hard to play the same song for 5 minute!

Great idea, good way to expand fiddle tunes which I usually practice for about a minute at a time. Five minutes is a long stretch. Sounds amazing!

Yes, it was commissioned by the Walnut Valley Festival for the 2017 National flatpicking contest

Sounds wonderful. I want one learn Leather Britches…(among countless others.) It takes me a very long time to learn a new tune note for note ONE version. Once it’s down one way I could play it for much longer than five minutes as it’s so much fun and satisfying to finally get it in the tank. Moving to improv is another story. I’d like to know what strings you prefer.
