This cassette player including an input stereo system to go with it was handed down to me by my uncle who passed away a while ago I can’t tell you how much I am happy to finally be able to use it thank you very much for making this video 🙌🤙🏾
Wow. Can’t say thanks enough! I bought this tape deck from a pawn shop for 15 bucks and the right deck had the same issue you described in the video. I took some needle nose pliers and removed the plastic piece. After that, I flatten the end of a q-tip and dipped it in 90 percent rubbing alcohol and cleaned the connector as you described. Put in a tape and everything is playing fine!
One thing to mention is that when you pull these plastic covers off it breaks the little nipples at the end of the black strips that hold it on. I used a thin strip of clear tape across the clear plastic to the back black solder point to hold it in place.
I should have researched this before taking it to a technician. I have the same exact issues. He couldn't figure out what the problem is. Luckily he's not going to charge me anything. Bad thing is I live in phoenix & He's in LA. At least when I go pick it up I get to see my GF! Great video! Thx!!!
My man! I think you’ve just saved my deck! Been trying to fix it for almost a year now, in different repair shops. Rubbed the metal tongues with alcohol just now - everything seems to work! Thank you!!
Perfect and simple - short and sweet - Thanks !! - I just did belt on one of these and deck one was going back and forth - I thought it was the tension sensor but wasn't sure if it was one of those. Some older decks , also solenoid controlled, have a little plastic tab that runs with the tape on the bottom facing up. When the tape tightens it triggers an auto stop feature. Same idea. This was a great help - Good luck with your channel - Subscribed and liked -
i have an rs-t330r and there's as a long piece of plastic covering this mechanism. according to the service manual it looks like i have to take it almost entirely apart to get it off. any advice?
I have this exact model too, also has a problem. Both decks won't play forward, but in reverse they play normally, The REWIND and FAST FORWARD functions work as they should in both forward and reverse. Why won't it play forward on both decks?
Would that be the same issue for my system? I have the Technics RS-TR515 which is the dual-auto reverse, dual recorder. When I put a tape in, hit play. I acts like it wants to do something. Then stops. Same for FF for RWD modes. Before it was packed into storage for 8 yr it was working fine. I was all wrapped up in layers of bubble wrap and inside a storage container too. All climate controlled.
Running into a problem with a Technics single cassette player. Work well over all, but sometimes deck won't rewind. It plays, fast forwards and records fine, but gets hung up when the rewind button is pressed. Any insight or direction would be helpful. Thanks
How do u put the plastic back on, cause after removing 2 of them they would not stay properly back in place anymore. so now I had to use some duct tape to keep them in place. and everything is working properly, but I would like it to be without the tape. I tried numerous times, but they just won't stay in place like the others. I did not clean the rest when this occurred, but it seems I got the one that was creating the issues at least.
Same thing happen to my Harmon and Kardon tape deck. FF and reverse were fine but would play for a bit then would just freeze. Think I will try this and see if it helps.
I have a Technics RS-TR155 and I can only reverse play on the 'recording' deck. The right tape capstan thingy just doesn't turn if I play to play normally (aka forward with the rollers going the normal counter clockwise), would it be the sensors on this too? As it plays fine and perfect in reverse play mode, and everything else works perfect.
buenos dias disculpa que te moleste tengo Cassettera deck technics RS-TR272 que parpadea el display me podrias ayudar desde ya muchas gracias un abrazo desde tucuman argentina
Who can do this technical repair for me? Anyone come to mind? Most people don't want to repair decks of this type. Thanks, but these repairs are fair too advanced for myself. Ken.

Yeah man right side for me too. Must have been the favoured side science it had all the bells and whistles. Like you, this fixed the Jesus out of it.
Brilliant! Fixed the same problem I was having with my RS-TR333. This saved me potentially hours of troubleshooting! Thank you!
I just got the 333 stopped an F03 error display. Were you getting same F03 pop up?
@@emilianoescobar1015 No, sorry I don’t recall any error messages.

What kind of belts did you use as replacements? I have one of these and it needs servicing but belt replacement has never been my area of expertise.
Oh fugg buddy, this saved me so many hours of trouble shooting. I have this exact deck and it worked like a hot fugg. 🎉🎉

Wonderful! I think this may have fixed my deck. Thank you 🙏
Thank you so much! Mine wasn't working after doing a belt replacement and I thought I wasted that time and money, but this was the key.

Amazing and thank you! I have the same problem. Did you put the plastic piece back on after cleaning the contact, or leave it off? Thanks!

Thank you! I was scratching my head for a while on this one.

Thank you! Fixed an onkyo ta 2550 (using same sensors for detecting tape type) , that would sometikes detect type 1 as 2 or 4
Do you have to put the plastic piece back on?
I was wondering that as well? Any update / answer?
My jvc deck b is broken which is the recording deck, can I record using the A deck??

i have this same issue, did you find anything out?
You probably have a broken gear. There is a gear that is used for one direction only, hence it will still play the other direction.
Thank you!!!!
Thanks for the info.
Saludos
hello my issue is it does not stop when it reaches end of tape, any ideas? thanks
On my display, the timer is way off. Every second it goes up is 5 seconds real time. Any solution?
I have a rs tr210 i belive the play deck is alittle mudeld i dont know if it needs an alinement or the speed changed
Same tape deck! Same problem!
Followed instructions but clips won't stay on. Didn't solve the problem!

It doesn't work for me, my technics rs-tr333 doesn't see any casette in recording slot and stops the motor after few seconds
Se pueden pintar los equipos y la serigrafia?
My screwdrivers never work trying to open it
Haha ..same problem on my model which appears the same - same deck to the right as well.. funny.
I did that and it made no difference I got the 777 model

pal those "contacts" has nothing to do with that issue
it is not a contact cos it covered with plastic protector

Useless if you are not a technician 😕👎👎👎
