  • No unnencessary comments. No annoying music. Just 10 minutes of driving experience, nothing more, nothing less.
    Don't expect amazing action, it was an ordinary day driving to work with the low trim E16i engine that is not known for making awesome power.
    This is the blue Rz1 that you might have seen in my previous videos:
    - 1988 Nissan Sunny 1.6 SLX (German model)
    - E16i type engine (1.6L, 73hp, 8V, monopoint fuel injection + cat)
    - digital cluster conversion
    - H&R 35mm lowering springs
    If you listen carefully, you can hear the many issues this car still has! A whining sound when cold, and some things rattling when shifting gears. Oh well, it still runs!

    My first car in 1999. It was a white one from 88 also with 1.6l engine. The funny thing about it was that two tiny seats in the rear. I realy was in love with that Nissan and never got a car like this again 🥲

    Lucky dude!! I do also have a NISSAN Sunny RZ1. That digital Cluster looks real sexy, too bad they are pretty scarce, I do want one for my car, mine is a NISSAN Hikari 1988 (Sunny B12 RZ1 for Mexico). Originally it had the E16ST Motor but the previous owner took away the turbo, actual plan is: rebuild the engine, add exhaust headers and change the Hitachi Single Barrel Carburetor to a0 twin Weber/Mikuni 40-45 mm carburetors, with those 2 modifications the E16 motor can get a nice HP push. Check it:

      That sounds very interesting! So in Mexico you got a factory E16S with a turbo? Do you have pictures, or video of the car? That sounds like a blast of a car, I am trying to get an E15ET since many years. The E15ET was a factory option in Japan, and I guess the best level of an E type engine you can get. I honestly like the E type engines a lot. I got another Rz1 with the CA18DE engine, but I actually prefer the small E16i engine.

      @@ClemensInJapan Sure, Here's Wikipedia info about the E16ST: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_E_engine#E16ST
      And here's an Original Survivor in pristine condition with the E16ST motor: www.autoclasico.com.mx/site/?p=15&id_fol_auto=18582
      Also I am the actual owner of this car: www.autoclasico.com.mx/site/eng/default.aspx?p=15&id_fol_auto=30545 unfortunately the previous owner did not took good care of this beauty, right now I'm in the process to fix several problems that he created due to their neglect on giving a proper maintenance to the car. Anyways, I am thinking of creating a VLOG to record the progress of the restoration of my Nissan Hikari.

      @@Ferizu Thanks a lot for the many details! It is very interesting that the Mexican Hikari are so different to the EU spec model. You have: 1) unique golden paint job 2) the red interior 3) turbo carb engine 4) turbo steering wheel 5) no clock. Do you know if the Hikari were built locally in Mexico, or imported from Japan?

    • @Ferizu
      @Ferizu 3 года назад

      @@ClemensInJapan Almost all of the B12 Series were locally built in the "Planta A1 NISSAN Aguascalientes" that is located in my city, many B12 spare parts can still be found brand new (some OEM and some by aftermarket manufacturers), most parts are for the B12 Sedan, interestingly the clock could be found in the dashboard of the top line B12 sedan (Called "Tsuru 2 Equipado"), and lately in the last years of the B12 Coupe version (years 1990 to 1992, years 1988 to 1989 didn't receive the clock).

    • @ClemensInJapan
      @ClemensInJapan  3 года назад +2

      @@Ferizu Awesome. You guys are so lucky! Got the B12 production right in the middle of the country, and still able to get some spare parts. In Europe, it is absolutely impossible to get anything from Nissan, not even small plastic parts. Every spare we have, we stored away in our homes. Do you by any chance have more details on the production in Mexico? I've read somewhere that the Hikari was produced until 1992. Very cool! Did you guys also get the CA engine, or only the E type engine?
