trying to figure out the Gnasher and hitboxes in GoW 1 is like trying to decipher the Dead Sea Scrolls. It's straight up esoteric.
The cover system seems fine. The damage is what throws me off. 1:58 and 2:15 are some of the best examples I can think of. You can land point blank shots and they’re still alive, but they can land 2-3 rounds at a distance and you’re down. Weird af.
I think people as the years gone on forgot the main rule of the game: head down, gun up
Avexys had a discussion recently with one of the developers working on E-Day, and he said something interesting. He said that the shotgun in Ultimate Edition has an RNG mechanic that makes it so the spread isn't consistent. He also said that it was mainly for hip firing, but I don't believe him. The weapons in UE can literally feel different from round to round.
I also heard a developer of a different game mention something called 'engagement-based matchmaking'. He pretty much admitted that the goal was to make the game fun for everyone, which pretty much means that it's not in a game developer's best interest to make the game 'fair, balanced, and consistent'. In the end, their main goal is to make money, discourage people from quitting, and keep you playing their game.

Yeah this is what Tekken achieved. An easy to.play, but hard to master game that appeals to everyone. Which is why Tekken is the best selling fighting game
@@wolvesrevenge866 It makes you wonder how long stuff like that has been going on, and if they build that kind of mentality into the gameplay, not just the matchmaking.
i stg that they put some kind of hidden buffs on the team that has their scheduled win, like better spawns or a slightly increased chunk range. its the only way i can explain why the chunk range is all over the place in this game. gears 5 is like an arcade game. you get an arbitrary boost in chunk range if you perform a back-a or up-a.
Just buff the lancer! Thats all they have to do

Pc and Xbox doesn’t have crossplay. I’m currently playing on pc

2:48 That’s actually not a good cover system if you can see the body and it’s sticking out like that you should be able to shot it not the whole body just that part that’s showing yes the cover system in e-day should be good But not that honestly dude I think you let nostalgia defined your opinions a lil too much ( not talking about the whole cover system just that one part)
