Stobrod's tune. Perhaps Art or Dirk Powell renamed this tune? Stobrod is a character in the movie Cold Mountain. Dirk recorded the tune later on this release: ruclips.net/video/7jMu0MWDS6Q/видео.html
@@Easternkyoutdoors781 Turns out Dirk Powell wrote that fine tune. Here's what Dirk Powell and John Herrmann had to say about it: From Dirk: Hey! As I remember it, I made up that melody and Art actually learned it in that era from the recording John and Tim and I made of it. He was always learning new things from everywhere. It certainly sounds like older tunes and was kind of intended to derive from that same well of music that sounds that way, of course. But, I could be wrong. In my mind, I made it up right before we did that recording so that we would have something original that also had that kind of tonality and feel, and named it that, in association with the book. That was before the movie was a thing. Art would have learned it from that, which is kind of how things were flowing in that era... he was very excited that people were creating sounds like that that tied back to his dad and things. But, honestly, if someone says it's older than that, or wants to assign it to a "family" of tunes and claim it for some other thing, and I'm wrong, I really wouldn't know anymore. That's my memory and understanding of it. - Dirk Powell And from John Herrmann: Hey all, Dirk made up that tune. I remember him going in the other room and emerging with it. I've always loved it for its Stamper like mode. John
