That REALLY isn't true. Dove is a professional actress and a professional singer. In fact, Dove is classically trained and has had as much training as Ariana, if not more. But Ariana is still slightly better.

Ariana's head voice is decent but pretty underdeveloped) Falsetto: Ari > Dove (Dove has a decent falsetto but she doesn't use it much as she prefers to go for head voice; Ari uses her falsetto 99% of the time and she does it really well seeing as she has one of the best falsettos in the industry) Whistle register: Ari >> Dove (Dove's whistle register is decent but Ari's is pretty good; again, one of the best whistle registers in this generation, topped only by that of the great Morissette Amon) Vocal Agility: Ari > Dove (Dove's vocal agility is pretty good but Ariana has so much control in this area; yes, everyone knows she uses her jaw a lot when riffing but that hasn't affected the clarity and precision of her runs in any way... her runs are still crystal clear and very precise and her musicality is just OUT OF THIS WORLD) Overall, Ariana is the more well-rounded vocalist but, honestly, I'd say they're on par with each other because both are able to sing with good enough technique for their specific voice types.

I think the biggest difference is that you can tell how much more training Ariana has had. I adore both of them, but Ari does have a much stronger range and generally better pitch/tone/control, and is generally more confident/knows where to place the sounds she's making. Both naturally excel at that bird-like angelic sound, but Ari is capable of going a lot more places than her comfort zone stylistically and probably has a bigger range. Which makes sense given her career has been going on so much longer! Can't wait to see how much Dove grows! Loving where she's taking her music. :)

But it is true that Ariana is more confident as a singer/vocalist because she knows her voice really well and has a good musical ear.

(Also Ari talked about her sound and she explained that at the beginning of her career when she listened to the 80's and 90's divas she really committed to find her own sound, and now look at her, you can recognize her voice wherever in any song).
Tancredi Agate most of those clips of dove were from a few years ago. i struggled to find clips of dove singing live in general because she really doesn’t have a lot of performances online but i completely agree! dove is a beautiful singer and she’s making her own music now (which is beautiful btw) and i cant wait to see how much she improves :)
