This song was a HUGE Hit !!!!! I was 33 years old in 1983 .... I loved this song back then and now too !!!! Hadn't heard in a while thanks ... Memories ! .... One of the best love songs of all time ! (P.S. Cinderella was with the Prince .... ) Flack and Bryson you can't find two more wonderful voices. Also Peabo Bryson and Celine Dion sang the main version of the title song, "Beauty and the Beast", in the Disney animated classic.

Mercy! This WAS a blast from the past! I haven't thought about the name Peabo Bryson in a minute! And I don't know how I could have forgotten him. He is an incredibly talented artist. Has two Grammy Awards to his credit. And of course...the amazing Roberta Flack. This duet was so powerful, but in such an understated way. Shear beauty and perfection. Love your reaction. (If you love Robert Flack, India, you HAVE to hear her sing "Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow." Your chills will have chill bumps!)

This song is so special to me. When I was 15, I was quite shy and had my own small circle of friends in school. I wasn't disliked or particularly bullied ,but the popular girls and lads didn't notice me. There was a lad called Bob Livesay who was very popular. He was good looking. funny and just nice. I got on with him but didn't know him well. One night at the local disco a bunch of girls were commenting on my hair, I have very curly hair. I used to get called Kate Bush!! Anyway Bob was with the girls as they were mocking my hair. Touching it and pulling the curls to see how long my hair was. I was embarrassed but laughed along. This song came on and Bob pulled me up to dance. We were joke smoothing and he was singing then words to me. We danced to a couple of songs then when he left he made a point of shouting goodbye to me. At school on Monday, girls that I had never spoken to were coming over and asking me if it was true that Bob had asked me to dance. Bob later came over and told me that he couldn't stand bullies and he thought I was lovely. We used to laugh and joke throughout school. Sadly Bob took his own life 2 years later on his own 18th birthday. I'm 52 now and I've never been able to listen to this song without my heart breaking over again. RIP Bob. You were the sweetest boy.

One thing I can say for certain the '80s brought in duet songs that could be used for multiple occasions whether its weddings anniverseries honeymoons and most importantly making babies I can only imagine how many people listened to this song and wondered how many were conceived because of this song lol.
