I have loved this woman for 17 years and I’m so grateful for her vulnerability and bravery! God does not want you to be shamed…you are made in His image…LOVE in all its forms.

I love her songs. They framed my life as a queer dude from the PNW. The Story, The Joke, I Will are my favorites, downpour makes me homesick and let’s me get out the feels. She is and will always be my favorite artist. She is a voice that has something to say and her music inspires joy and sadness and all the good great things that are real and timeless and universal. I love her

Oof, the part where she said she was disappointing her mother … I knew that feeling so very well. I steadfastly remained myself when I was a child - but never thought to come out, as I didn’t even know what that was in the bubble I was raised in.

Brandi, I don’t know that this will reach you, but I was initially taken aback by your upside down crosses. I’m aware of your faith and it’s one of the things that I hold dear about you. Then it hit me-Peter died upside down on his cross because he said that he wasn’t worthy to die like Jesus. I think you started something for me. (Other than me serenading my neighbor with Josephine and her listening through her door, and me listening to her listen as she turned her TV down. Let us remember the closeted this Pride month and pray for true love. 😊😉 ) Loved this. You’ve been an inspiration in my coming out. Saw you in 2011 at Knights Theater in Charlotte. You lit up that place like the 4th of July. Rock on. ✌🏻
I’m always curious about why people choose to wear crosses. With my religious trauma it is such a trigger, but then I heard a sermon my Alexander John Shaia reclaiming the cross as the intersection of things which brings JOY - where East meets West, where science meets spirit, where head meets heart, where the unknown meets the known, where mystery meets the tangible. That is a cross I can get behind!

the hardest thing i had to do.. i am old in my days gays were thought to be mentally ill. so you were shamed into hiding., Brandi u came out at 15 i went into the closet. the hardest part of my life was the closet. i got married had a great kid. but felt something missing. so thankfully god is good and i left the idiot and moved out of state, and i found myself in that state. Now i can say i divorced and married my soulmate and we have been together for over 30 years and raised a beautiful girl, who loves her mama jamma. thanks for openings doorways so no one else has to hide.

that is the problem "my identity"---i did it my way---about cleansing---the gospel went out to all nations--peter sent to the
gentiles. they too had to repent/turn away from sin, and put their faith in jesus. the word of God was not written for
