She travelled from upcountry in Sheema district and conveyed the message. It was a Saturday,the following day Sunday we went the nearest church and prayed,the following day Monday I got job which am still clinging to and has uplifted from dust to glory. I was a brand new older Christian. I left a dark and sinful lifestyle, i went camping by myself down to the Outer Banks. On that Sunday, I walked into a tiny little church with only about 15 people and they sang this hymn. It has been my call to action ever since. That was 40 years ago. Why should they have to listen to a song they care nothing about, nor are interested in? 🤔 Christian reminders like this song should be limited to people's lives out of the school system. You want to listen to muslem prayers every day at school as well? Should we include the ringing of Tibetan prayer bells while walking down the hallways? Or sit in the auditorium to listen to voodoo chants before christian songs? No religion does not belong in schools at all unless it is a comprehensive study of all world religions within a class schedule that puts none higher than the others.

I have heard of people with this condition, and it has been said prayer and listening to music are cures. I don't believe a damn word of that. Psychosomatic illnesses can not be resolved by prayer or music. It can be addressed with medication, though. A lot of medication!

If you haven't been obeying and are Now going to strive to, than you shouldn't be "calmed". The Holy Spirit of God does not calm people in their disobedience, but precisely He stirs them to be broken and bothered until they confess and Repent that they weren't obeying but will Now turn from the disobedience and now Obey. It is so often a most offensive method of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit that man feels better or is confirmed amidst sin, rather than only as God gives man these feelings or confirmations. As a child many years ago, this was the first Christian song I learned and could sing fully. It was taught to me by nuns who were my teachers at an elementary school. I recently taught it to my own young kids and they love to sing it with me. This song summarizes the essence of discipleship as a Christian. Rather than doubt, argue, or rebel, just TRUST AND OBEY.

I predict that in the next five to ten years there will be a mass retreat to the great hymns. We’ve had decades of praise songs, and they’ve served their purpose (so, no slight or reproach to them)-during these times of such uncertainty, however, the richness and grounding depth of the hymns provide a security that repetitive hooks and rock progressions lack. This was one of the most beautiful pieces of music to be recommended to me on RUclips in years-and it was a hymn. Thank you! God has “found a way” to bring hymns back!

I have heard of people with this condition, and it has been said prayer and listening to music are cures. I don't believe a damn word of that. Psychosomatic illnesses can not be resolved by prayer or music. It can be addressed with medication, though. A lot of medication!

If you haven't been obeying and are Now going to strive to, than you shouldn't be "calmed". The Holy Spirit of God does not calm people in their disobedience, but precisely He stirs them to be broken and bothered until they confess and Repent that they weren't obeying but will Now turn from the disobedience and now Obey.
It is so often a most offensive method of Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit that man feels better or is confirmed amidst sin, rather than only as God gives man these feelings or confirmations. Men led and stirred by the Holy Spirit rightly in confession and repentance, do so precisely and with specific Pre and Post Holy Spirit conviction conditions of their heart. Not a making light or omitting especially the Pre condition, which is the tendency of the Flesh to make light of sin and move fast to the blessed/fun side of being led by the Holy Spirit.
