The Skyliner had a retractable (convertible) hardtop, and the Sunliner had a neat see through top, like an early version of a sunroof. Very cool stuff.
I gotta admit it.... Im a lil bummed out that this adventure is about to come to an end. Its been soo darn fun and im enjoying the heck out of it! Thanks for sharing brotha 🍺Watched & Liked 👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Justin! Love the whale! I saw of FB where you were home already! Glad you made it back ok! I have soooo enjoyed this journey with you! It is now my goal to stay at the Roadrunner Inn! The Impala is also a custom built car from Chip Foose. I forgot what it's called but both are one of a kind cars. The Impala I believe won the Riddler Award at SEMA in 2016. Both cars have a large price tag attached to them. The Impalas is bigger due to the award it won. Most of his cars cost new is about six figures due to each being hand made and is designed for that exact customer's specifications.
Believe it or not, Mentholatum is still in production today. It's sort of like Vicks Vapor Rub but more gentle, so there's less stinging of the eyes and nose but still has the soothing menthol for clearing up congestion. I had no idea what it was until I married a country bumpkin who prefers using older stuff like Mentholatum and Tiger Balm.
Buffalo are great escape artist and beast at charging through regular fenced enclosures. Their are a few places in the Tx and Ok panhandle although still fenced but with very large acreages, have herds of buffalo.
I am getting ready to travel on RT 66 starting on 10 July 2017 and since you have been all over RT 66, do you know where the best place to get a map of RT 66 at and are they expensive?
Justin, what is the Randomland song at the end? I always read the comments waiting for someone to say but no dice yet! Thanks for the Route 66 adventures! ❤️❤️
Pckard used to be a premium name in US automobiles. They were well-built and fairly powerful for their time. Likewise, Studebaker built lower cost but very reliable cars. But after World War II when auto production began again, many of the former car builders just couldn't afford to re-start. The Studebaker-Packard merger gave both companies a leg up; Packard by the Studebaker dealer network, and Studie by the Packard name and brand. Then, the Nash-Kelvinator and Hudson car companies were added, becoming American Motors. Unfortunately, competition grew more intense, and Studebaker-Packard was having trouble keeping up with the larger Ford, General Motors and Chrysler. In 1962, the Packard name was dropped, becoming Studebaker. Because of high labor costs, Studie moved from South Bend, Indiana to Hamilton, Ontario in 1963, producing cars until 1966, when they could no longer survive. American Motors survived to 1987.
I wish they still made Packard's too, but Packard went out of business in the late 50s. That was all thanks in part to bad styling specifically the pregnant elephant years 1948-50, a decline in sales and the final nail in the coffin was merging with another automotive company that was declining Studebaker.
