Yes, when the energy buffer inside the coal generator is full, it won't use up any coal, but the burn tick will keep going until it reaches the burn time it should be.

I just wanted to see the experience for playing some well rounded mods by themselves and you also play a lot like I do so that's a win :) Also really enjoy the wrap up episodes. It might be to early but for your next series, i suggest you try futurepack mod. It's not a pack but a mod. It's a huge mod that adds 2 new dimension, world gen, new ores, alot of research to unlock machines and tools. That mod need more attention because it's a really cool mod. If you want you can take a look at Java Vampire channel. He is one of the youtuber that i'm following and he is doing a let's play with futurepack.

I was tempted to play chromaticraft in the past after i did the rotarycraft/electricraft/reactorcraft surviving with series, but I didn't find much interest in it after messing around with it for a bit. Sorry :(

TheReal Infinite not to take away from Rage, who is Awesome!, SystemCollapse is a newish but very good RUclips creator who has a great and simple explanation on his channel in his FTB Beyond series. It uses nothing but simple cabling with a tiny bit of Redstone. No RFTools Control needed.

Ah, okay. So using the tiny coal could save a little bit of power in the long run just because it wont have to burn out a ton if the buffer fills.

For your base you should try and do a crystal cave with crystalline and empowered crystalline blocks. Expensive, but could look really cool.
