I know right? All i want is to see people appreciate and finding another type of hair styling than "straight" beautiful. Hell, as a naturally curly girl i'm just happy to see that curly/wavy hair is accepted now bc how badly i used to get made fun of for having naturally pretty intense curls (between 3B and 3C) when i was younger at school. These toxic curly hair people really just are weirdly gatekeeping something i wish i wasn't bullied for for years, really even if you just use a curler on straight hair, i'm just happy to see people finally appreciate how pretty wavy/curly hair is now. The toxic curly girls absolutely did not pass the vibe check.
YESSS it made me a bit sad when Aislinn said “I don’t have curly hair, I have *a bit* of natural wave” I was like baby girl any texture is texture that benefits from curly hair treatment!
I hate that people get so ridiculous just about how someone views their own hair. Your hair looks so pretty with these products 🥰 I hope you style your hair this way more often.
👏straight👏hair👏doesn't👏wave👏only👏using👏products👏 Yes, you do have wavy hair! And it's stunning. This wavy lavender is probably my favorite hair you've done!
Just some tips 😀 so the cream is for styling and the foam is to set the style, so foam goes last. Also you can shake mousse but not foam it can change the formula! I also recommend Manes by Mell! You're hair is sooooooo pretty, I love it!
As a black woman with 4c hair and alopecia, your hair is beautiful… it’s obvious you appreciate your hair, so don’t let the toxicity get to you. You’re not promoting any stereotypes about curly hair or anything like that. What society needs to understand is hair texture isn’t racially reserved, just like hair color or eye color. It’s genetics. At the end of the day live your life according to you.
I think it's so fun that you're exploring your hair texture! I would recommend using the cream before the foam and using a bit more foam overall. The crunchy hair feeling can be good for style longevity, just scrunch the crunchy hair and your hair will end up soft afterwards. I hope you have fun playing around!
As someone who’s hair was dead straight until I hit my mid thirties and is still learning how to style my now incredibly waved up hair I appreciate this vid so much ❤ thanks girl xxx
I never quite get why there can be so much toxicity within the curly hair community. It can be negativity towards as you stated wavy hairs girls or even your routine of taking care of your hair to the products you use. I have naturally curly hair and I try not to chime in on anyone else cause it’s not necessary or called for at all.
I had to leave the Subreddit. It was like a weird mix of toxic makeup influencer vibes and toxic "all natural products onlyyyyy" vibes. People with perfect hair who needed 1 or 2 products just crapping on anyone needing real help, insisting they must be doing it wrong or abusing their hair because "all I do is xyz!" And they were noooot messing with anything kinky curly. I had to go to the Natural Hair sub to get real support that actually helped.
It’s the “race for who has the curliest and hardest hair to care for” competition. Totally unnecessary gate keeping. And completely kills the curly hair journey for anyone attempting to tap into and learn from others in the community.
@@notahamsterr It's so silly. I will never get how those people don't understand that it doesn't take anything away from someone to include someone with looser curls than them. I don't get the gatekeeping.
Just from the thumbnail, you look absolutely stunning, I love it! I swear by my Cantu products! After trying a ton of other affordable brands, this was the one that brought life to my curls. I think every community has gatekeepers, pfffff... We're never curly enough, busty enough, goth enough, a "true fan", a "true gamer", whatever. All that matters is that you do and style yourself in any way that makes you feel good.
Excellent comment!! I concur whole heartedly 😁 we need more people like you, positive reinforcement and kind words do much more in this world than vile troll keyboard warriors! Why would people waste the time to write something nasty, just absolutely pointless. Anyway just wanted to say "i appreciate you" and your kind, supportive words. 😁 Have a wonderful day lovely 😍 x
I've never understood the gatekeepers. They seem to think if they admit someone with hair less curly than theirs is also curly it somehow takes something away from them?!
As a curly trained hairdresser: Thanks for doing it on camera🖤 You love your hair and that should unit all of us instead of dividing. I would switch the order of the two products you used on the damp hair the next time🙃
Your hair looks SOO CUTE and pretty, that haircut with that wave??? Beautiful. I have natural very curly hair and the gatekeeping in the community is ridiculous. Looks stunning on you.
I have wavy hair too (maybe a little less than yours but I haven't diffused or anything), and this video honestly makes me want to explore diffusing my hair!
As others have said - straight hair doesn't curl just because of product. Pretty much if you let your hair air dry and the top dries frizzy and the bottom, where it's usually healthier and more hydrated, dries with any sort of wave or curl pattern? Congratulations! Your hair is naturally textured. The one thing I will say is if you wanted more definition and less frizz you likely used too little product. Usually crunchiness can be, well, scrunched right out of your hair once it's fully dry and it becomes touchable and soft again. But using a bit more product gives that hold. But that's all preference and experimentation that we all go through when embracing our natural texture :)
Your hair looks stunning. Try not to be too afraid of the curly community. The more you get used to your natural texture the easier your routine will become. People get stuck on do this and do that, but as you know everyone's hair needs something different. Your routine will change and evolve. Have fun with your curls, enjoy your routine, pamper yourself, and know that us curly girls embrace you and wish you joy on your curly journey. 💚

I've been wearing my hair wavy since June. Took me a little to embrace it but I love it now! I'm currently growing out my natural hair color since I haven't had it in over 20 years!
Your hair looks so cute! ❤ I personally have straight, thin, baby fine long hair that gets tangled so easily and products weigh my hair down and my hair doesn’t hold any heat styles so I just braid my hair when it’s wet and sleep on it
Love it. A couple things I've always done when styling mine like yours. I only finger comb, using a comb stretches the curl/wave. Also idk if you did, but if you want a bit more volume and bounce diffuse with our head upside down.
Love you boo! Love the waves I'm a wavy curly girl from what I've been told you wanna go from heavy to light but brad has a video of him using his line you might wanna watch one to see how he does it
As a girl with curly/wavy hair, you are accepted ❤ also I have watched a video of a girl who had hella straight hair use the curly girl method and BOOM she had curls and waves she never knew about. Everyone who wants curls/waves, should try the CGM and see what they are working with 💕
I have similar hair to yours. I have “s” shaped loose waves. However in curly hair groups I was always told my hair was straight because I used products. The thing about wavy hair versus curly hair is that unless it’s really wavy you need to coax the wave and product to hold it…at least in my experience.
Your hair is definitely wavy and very pretty. I used to have very thick, very curly hair until 6-7 years ago. Now it's just wavy, but I still have the habit of calling it curly and I have gotten corrected. 😂
Yes, your hair is wavy. And it looks really pretty. My hair is naturally curly.. I tend to straighten my hair at least once a week. I appreciate my hair now that I'm older, LOL!
Depending on the curl pattern determines what I use for each kiddo! My kids are biracial with all different textures and patterns. I use X mondo wave tech on my loose curled kiddo. I use Carols Daughter on my 3c hair type kiddo. And shea butter brand for my middle curl kiddo. They all have great benefits depending on the curl pattern and type of hydration or hold needed! ❤
I just started using curly hair products just because I've never really "embraced" my hair. The community is honestly so toxic, I'm a guy with shorter hair that still curls and I'm constantly told I don't have them. It's nice to see this honestly
Fun fact: your hair texture is determined by the shape of your hair cuticle! Straight hair has a circular cuticle, and wavy/curly hair has a oval/oblong cuticle! Hormones and meds also effect your curl pattern ALOT
I have straight hair and girl... you definitely have some beautiful waves! Like my hair does not have *a single* curved hair in it - and that's what straight hair is. If I would use a straightener on it - it would look the same. I'm sorry some curly folks are so gatekeepy!
Love the final result! When you try the next product line can you show us how you used the diffuser attachment? i have to try those products , at your step3 it was what my hair looks like when I let them dry , so with all the products I think I could b able to have beautiful curl wavy style
I've learned from manes by Mell that ya should wash then do ,leave in conditioner or cream , an ya gel or foam diffuse an then scrunch out the cast with an oil. I haven't followed all the steps just yet as I'm still trying to diffuse my hair properly still. But I do know to hover diffuse for the roots first an then to turn it off an put in the diffuser an turn it back on . But I'm still learning 😌
Hey girl! My wave pattern is similar to yours and I haven’t seen it since high school. I’ve been wanting to do this and I’ve seen a lot of people defining the curls with a Denman brush before diffusing. You should try that too!
We have very similar hair. I also have quite a wave in my hair and can get them to come out with manipulation. But I also have the same issue with the next day it is a complete wreak. My top layer is just not as wavy as the rest. My bottom layer is downright curly! However, I like my hair straight so much better, so I am getting ready to get a keratin straightener. Since I have been doing that (on and off for many years!) my wave pattern has changed and is much more soft and bouncy. When I do diffuse my hair, I always use the lowest speed and a higher heat. Works best for my fine hair. Sometimes I can just use my Dyson Airwrap, the blow dry attachment and that works pretty well too. I wish Dyson would make a diffuser for the Airwrap. Anyway...lol I think your hair looks lovely!
I do want to see how you use the diffuser! My hair is wild, wavy, and FRIZZY is there any technique to not add to the frizz or is that where the products come in?
This looks sooo cute! I think it would be even more defined if you used more foam. He recommends that you put 4-5 pumps on a wide tooth comb for each side of your head and brush it through.
Your hair looks so pretty!! 😍😍 I've tried using his wave products, and unfortunately, they just don't work for me 🥺. I think it's probably because all his products have some kind of bond building properties, and it's too much for my hair because it dries it out so badly 🥺. For context, I have very long, wavy/curly fine hair. The only color I have in it is Xmondo pink, which I only use, maybe, once a month. My hair has no damage at all. His products smell DIVINE. I gave the wave line to my daughter and granddaughter, who both have bleach damage and it works wonderfully in their hair.
As a curly hair girl, we don't claim the toxic curly girls. A lot of us just want people to love their hair. Also check out Manes by Mell.

YESS test the xmondo purple shampoo!
