    Shop at Aldi. It is cheaper. Everything here seems very expensive compared to prices at Aldi in the US.
    Also, if you want freshly baked bread, go to Lidl. It is owned by the same group as Kaufland, but should be cheaper.

      Hi, I googled the price of plain ciabatta at Lidl in the US and it's $1.99 compared to the 0.69€ we paid at Kaufland in Germany. The prices in Germany also include the sales tax

    The prices in Germany are incredible compared to the US. We have crazy prices, especially in large cities, due to inflation.

      Coffee is around $11 per kilogram here (Costco pricing). The coffee shown in this video was €20 per kilogram. I do not consider these prices low. This couple should shop at Aldi instead of Kaufland and only go to Kaufland for things that Aldi does not carry.

      Kaufland does carry cheaper brands and cheaper varieties of coffee that come in cheaper, larger bags. We specifically chose a nice Italian brand of coffee that is grounded at the adequate size for our moka pot and that comes in a smaller package as we drink coffee only a few times a week.

    Do you pay tax at the register?

    • @khynna
      @khynna  9 месяцев назад +1

      The sale tax is included in the price displayed on the shelf, no extra tax is added at the register on top of the displayed price.

      It is illegal to quote retail prices in most of Europe without sales tax included.

      Thank you for watching 💜 I check the weekly store leaflet before doing the shopping list. My boyfriend and "Google translate" help as well. But, as you can see, I did confuse osterei (Easter eggs) for ostrich meat 😆
