the larynx is part of the lower respiratory tract not upper
It depends on what text you're using! Some sources include the larynx in the upper respiratory tract, others include it in the lower respiratory tract. Personally, I choose to include it in the upper respiratory tract because laryngitis is typically deacribed as an upper respiratory infection....although I'm sure if I looked hard enough I'd find a source that says otherwise!
