- Just a few days into Trump's America, Billy hits the street with Emmy winner Stephen Colbert to ask New Yorkers what they'd like to say to President Donald Trump and how they feel about living in their so-called "NY bubble." Tune in Tuesday 10:30/9:30c on truTV!

Stephan looks like Billy's supportive, yet confused dad throughout this entire thing, and I'm here for it
Hey Mary C! Im also Mary C
So true! i love it!
So good, I really dont think his bewilderment was an act. Like, "okay, I guess this is what Broadway dreams are made of." Also, I think he thought about offering the lady that spoke about healthcare a job.
thats Stephen in a nutshell
"Miss, What does it feel like to be an elitist New York piece of shit?"
"It feels awesome."
😂😂😂
Kevin Eusebio Were you aware that The USA soccer team plays Serbia on sunday?
said the plastic turd on the plastic phone
"It feels awesome."
I can tell you it's better than being an inferior Alabama piece of shit.
that elected YOUR President Donald Trump. They got the last laugh.
That woman is literally me
I find it fascinating which celebrities humble themselves enough to follow Billy's lead
colbert has been dealing with improv and the more, uh, strong and or strongly erratic personalities i've experienced in media in the last say 20 years.
i imagine he takes a lot in stride
Humble? Doing a tv show makes you humble now? Are you fucking stupid
KavaLogue use your brain idiot that’s clearly not what he meant
@@kavalogue you must be so embarrassed💀
they are just people man. Persons.
"He tried to go back to Comedy Central" 😂
RobbieC yeah! If only!
Who knew you could get so many likes by just quoting a line from the video?
Anyone who's ever been on youtube and checked the comment section
Sarcasm my friend, sarcasm

Some very honest, articulate answers here from New Yorkers. Well done. But, yea I admit. The "golden shower" fur coat woman floored me! Oh, New Yorker, you!
Patty Dixon ++
LA is a car city so I see the point. New Yorkers, still, are just damn unique. Very chill and hard to impress. I think people are interesting and I'd watch this in all kinds of cities. But, again, New York does have a certain flair and there is no shortage of interesting, chatty people at every turn.
president camacho I respectfully disagree
I love how you see the 'Golden Shower' Lady react to her own thought before she says it, hahahahah
2:18 yes a legend
Not shouting, not running... is he ok?
Shadow Heart Donald Trump is President, no one is okay.
I'm doing fine.

The chillness of this video is scaring me.
1st Guy (to Stephen): Hi! How are you sir? Good to see you!
Billy: Hey.
1st Guy (to Billy): Hi.
As a non American I always thought it was the LA people that lived in a bubble.
Hieillua LA people certainly are in a bubble. New York is also hypothesized as being in a bubble.
that's why it's called La La Land
they say that about any progressive city
you really don't understand what bubble means, do you?
a 1.2 trillion dollar in raised taxes every year bubble just saying
"Golden Shower" oh.my.god.
"Animation"
Stephen: "Oh wow!"
Billy: "Oh.. great..."
Is this the most 'relaxed' video on this channel? haha
“He actually grabbed Pandora’s box, without permission” had me dying
3:36 - "What are you studying?"
"Animation"
"Oh great"

Stephen Colbert is such a delightful and genuinely kind human being.
The first guy was very articulate... he should be talking on TV/radio...
has a great vocals too

Came here to say the same. He’s great
Shout out to the lady in the red jacket - keepin' the integrity real.
he actually grabbed the Pandora's Box😂😂😂
why are the people acting like its no big deal meeting Steven Colbert... I would go full teenage fangirl inside
Jane Reznickova because they are newyorkers
Jane Reznickova I totally agree! and I'm sixteen🤘
Jane Reznickova You're cute.
I know!!!!! I would scream OH MY GOD IT'S STEPHEN COLBERT!! I LOVE YOU SO MUCH CAN I GET A HUG!!?
In my mind
Because he was amazing 4 years ago, but has become just a liberal patsy... Yeah, that's why babe.
".... golden shower" Jesus can I be her friend?
R.I.P. that poor woman's health insurance :(
And people who lost their insurance under Obamacare can actually get it back now.
Who lost their insurance under Obamacare?
+Julian Belkin During Obama's tenure the economy worsened and my mothers business suffered. At this point there was already a chance we could lose the house. They my father (who was the primary care holder) lost his insurance because of Obamacare and our medical bills started piling up. Next he lost his job due to down sizing at the company he worked for. And as an added note it was almost a year before he actually got his unemployment checks and at that point he had already found a lower paying job than before. So fuck Obama.
My heart broke for her.
Wermhats Wormhat Most of my friends are actually still viable for health insurance under their parent's insurance plans. That's why I asked the question in the first place, so that I could better understand how such things could happen.
I love how walking around in bubbles is not weird to NYers
You could do the same thing in L.A. and it would get the same reaction.
Nothing is weird to New Yorkers.
2:40 If Stephen asks for the phone, you give it to him.
1:32 when the hat came off 😭😂😂
I just got back from a trip to New York. Everyone was nervous about me walking the streets, but everyone was so kind to me. It was a lovely experience. ♥️
I feel like Stephen Colbert was underutilized but these were surprisingly nice quick interviews with real New Yorkers. Most of us are really nice, just don't bother us during our shitty commute, etc.
Real new Yorkers were born and raised in NY.
As someone who just moved to NYC to attend Columbia University from a small rural town in southwestern Georgia, I was actually very emotionally moved by this. The messages shared here are heartfelt and honest, and it makes me proud of what I believe I try to stand for.
2:15 "Golden Shower" LOL. Come on folks - this is how funny NYC'rs reallyare. That old lady in the fake mink coat didn't miss a beat. You may think they're being rude, but they just have great dry humor. Okay?
I don’t think it’s a fake coat.
i think this is the calmest billy has ever been
shout out to Animation majors!
blocknessmonster18 I'm doing something close to it
lol that's one of my pals
oh great
Do you listen to the Bancroft Brothers Podcast?
blocknessmonster18 Yo, one the most underappreciated professions
"He actually grabbed Pandora's box without permission" Hahaha he's hilarious!
The animator girl in the hat is my favorite!!
Golden shower 😂
What tf?! LOL
I Died!!
Honest question: Why do people keep repeating this when it's been proven to be made up? Is it because you're not aware that it was made up, or do you just think it's funny enough to keep repeating? That's not supposed to be mean, by the way...im generally curious.
The girl at 2:46 reminds me of Sadness from Inside Out
I love how he introduces Stephen but keeps talking like he's not there 😆
Kind of ironic that Donald Trump was born and raised in the NY elitist bubble.
He's a fake!
Leo Brooklyn He was a Democrat until he learned he could make more money scamming Boomers and edgy Conservatives. If there is anything New Yorkers know, its how to spot a fraud. Thing is that the ppl best capable of spotting con artist make some of the best con men.
0:22 Billy's voice-doppelganger found!
"He's opening Pandora's box, and um..."
"He actually grabbed Pandora's box without asking permission."
"Oh my god..."
5:05 commuting to work during quarantine
That phone return thing is actually really sweet and a good moral and social litmus test. Great example to think of on the fly, the kind of thing I would only think to say looking back when I got home 😂😂😂
But why is she always dropping her ‘phone and not noticing?
That WOOO at the start was magic
We live in a bubble in the sense that we live around more liberals. But we interact more with our neighbors here - we share walls, elevators, buses and subway cars with them. My community is much more diverse than the average American town - 50% nonwhite, 50% foreign born, and a high percentage of Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, Jewish, and other faiths. I also interact with people of all income levels thanks to the subway and other facets of urban life. Is someone who lives in a conservative, mostly-white, mostly-Christian town living in any less of a bubble?
Astoria Rego That.... That makes more sense tbh.
@@eduardoarmenta9232 all of you high brow transplants ignore natives from the outer boroughs and treat the lower income folks like they have the plague.
Like srsly how do you interact with random people on the subway?
good point
Yes, because we actually have to deal with problems you New York assholes don't have to deal with. That's what is meant by "New York bubble."
Isn't DT a bubbled New Yorker?
No, he's a human Cheeto.
He's concentrically bubbled, where he doesn't have to interact with the average New Yorker.
youtubeyoutubeyoutube He is god.
Billy, please let Elena send a message to Trump.
WE NEED MORE STEPHEN
"He grabbed Pandora's box without permission" HAHAHAHAHA
"What is the first word that comes to mind when you think of Donald trump?" "Golden shower." LOL!!!!!! Wasn't expecting that!
Oh my god. I literally spit my water out at billy’s opening monologue!! 😂!
I always think it's hilarious when they say New Yorkers live in a bubble. You're saying the city that has gays living next to jews living next to black people living next to hispanics living next to muslims living next to hipsters living next to investment bankers living next to immigrants living next to every group out there is confined in its cultural seclusion? Really? Like reallllyyyyy? I guess being from a white only town you must have so much more exposure outside world. Who lives in the bubble again?
NYC is SEGREGATED...especially by ethnicity. NYC is one of the most sexist and racist cities in the world. You need to know someone or have money to live there. It is just going to become and International city ..all five boroughs (all about conducting business and tourism)...and unless you have to do certain business there....no.you won't be able to live there.
BASM None of that is true. I'm from Texas and I moved to NYC 2 years ago. I knew no one. I'm an RN. I'm not rich, You are making all that up to try to prove a point that doesn't exist.
There's wasn't much of what I'd call elitism in Queens or Brooklyn, but people that haven't lived there (or have only done a quick visit) have a skewed perception of NY.
@@b.a.s.mofficial3681 nah
I think this comment articulates why the bubble point is at least somewhat valid. It's about more than just ethnicities and skin color, its about philosophies and ideologies. Thats the problem with the left, they focus way too much on shallow things like race. Most people in NYC THINK the same (as evidenced by voting patterns), even if they dont look the same
"in the 18yrs I've existed..."
Can't wait for Colbert to host the Emmys!!!!
He's likely the sharpest comedian there is.
I loved that hug Stephen gave that woman. That was a real hug!!!
bruh this is actually sad lmao
colbert is tearing up
1:32 idk why I keep laughing at Stephen's robotic turn to fetch his hat
"We're not all rich"- guy who lives in the East Village.
The way that first guy immediately started talking to Stephen like he ran into an old coworker at a cocktail party
That first guy is the epitome of the New York bubble
I could have watched this for the rest of my life
2:45 Stephen was gonna take the woman's phone and I want to know what happened.
Alex Miller looks like she was struggling with holding the phone and signing the card at the same time. I assume he was going to hold it for her while she signed it. He seems like a really nice dude
"I will do anything you say" for being a host he sure is one hell of a guest :)
GOLDEN SHOWER! HAHAHA!
I love the lady who responded "Golden Shower" Yeah a Toronto Dominion Bank.
that last scene tho...
"I wanna be in a smaller bubble".... if only he knew what was coming
some of the answers were pretty deep i'm impressed you should ask these type of questions more often :)
Why are the people from the "Heartland" (wherever the F that is) NEVER told they live in a bubble? Because they do live in one. When your only experience with the outside world is a trip to the International House of Pancakes you need to broaden your horizons. And I've visited red stated extensively, even lived in one for a couple of years. I talk from experience, there's a lot nice people in flyover country, but not a lot of flexibility or free thinking.
route99 because the rest of America is that so called bubble. The bubble surrounding New York is unique to the city to some degree
Maybe the bubble isn't a location, maybe the bubble is actually what separates you from the 1%, mentally, financially and emotionally. It's easy for an old white man to judge people from his tower (literally) when he never experienced poverty or any struggle of that nature.
I’m a Kansan. I’m not about to deny that I live in a bubble.
People are obviously going to be out-of-touch with the concerns of people who live a dramatically different lifestyles. New Yorkers don’t care about gas prices. Here in Kansas, gas going up a few cents a gallon can really hurt people’s monthly budget. Kansans don’t care about gentrification. In New York, gentrification is destroying communities. We are out of touch with each other’s struggles because we just don’t have to face them. And issues that are tied to geography tend to disproportionally impact the working class because those are the people who can’t afford to solve their problems by traveling or importing. So the New Yorkers supporting environmental policies that would raise gas prices look cruel and elitist here in Kansas. And the Kansans who support land policies that would evict longtime tenants look cruel and elitist in New York.
I really like the first guy's answer. It was too articulate and truthful for Billy to interrupt, so he just let him make his point.
sunglass guy: ... we're not all rich
billy: well, speak for yourself [rushes away]
Damn been too long since I watched Billy. Few comedians make me laugh this hard from one liners
He's Hosting EMMY'S This Year, Billy
That's amaaaazing!
I love colbert
Stephen losing his hat and retrieving it needs to be a gif
"what are you studying?"
"animation"
"great"

Give Billy his damn Emmy after this masterpiece!
aaww the first guy was very inspired only caught off guard... Billy :(
“Dig a little deeper in your soul, and don’t be such a shallow creep” She artfully gives advice and also DRAGS him
1:31 cap really said allright imma head out
I felt very bad for the first speaker he seemed genuine about his response and they kind of dismissed him LMAO
“What are you studying?” “Animation” “oh great 🙄”.
I find it interesting that the potus that is FROM NYC would call it a bubble. it's kind of like him complaining about celebrities when he is a celebrity
Or how he complains about the swamp in DC when he is exactly the same
Woahhhhh is the first guy wearing peloton apparel.... very ahead of his time 😂😂
He actually grabbed Pandora's box. OMG snatched
The young student seems like the nicest person.
THIS WAS FUCKING AWESOME
stephen is the best
"He tried to go back to Comedy Central.." LOL AS IF
