When I was just a young whipper snapper we still had my grandfathers team. My uncle used them to pull hay wagons and the pull rope to lift loose hay in the hay loft. Grandfather died in 51 at the age of 51 from cancer and never farmed with tractors. When he got sick my uncle bought a C allis chalmers to make the farming easier when my grandfather was unable to help any more. Barney and Bess was the Belgian team. They were buried on the farm.
At age four or so, I got to be seated on the Budweiser Wagon pulled by Clydesdales and have been in love with big draft horses ever since. Now THESE are tractors!! :-)
Love your videos and magazine, keep up the good work! I especially love seeing the brabants and the oxen. if our other brown swiss cows has a bull calf this month i will be starting my first team so fingers crossed

Looks like a great time. Time to look at the teams, and watch them work.
It's always beautiful to see man and animal coordination. Everyone in nature can survive and reduce carbon footprint.👍

I'll take that mountain breakfast!
Garfield...an appropriate name for an animal that only wants to eat.
I'm no farmer, but that ploughed soil looks good to me.
Are there any shows close to Lexington Kentucky
There probably are.
There are more draft horses around than you think
There are a few companies making new horse drawn machinery now.
And farmers nowadays complain about the seats in their tractors being ruff. I bet the farmers of the older days wish they had it that good.
When and where 2022?
When and where will be the next plow day?
At 6:17 team was in time with each other
