Hello! I'm one of the developers for Tunche, from LEAP Game Studios. I wanted to thank you very much for the video review and also let you know that many of the bugs mentioned have been patched during these first few days. We had some unexpected trouble there but things are working a lot smoother now. Hopefully you can check the updated version and thanks again for playing our game!
Is there anywhere to go to see the patch notes? I was interested in buying the game for myself and friends but if the resources aren't increased for coop play I'd unfortunately would have to skip this game
@@BladeBloodTear also resources come in 2 types. The ones for the whole team (shards and enthropy) and for individual ones (coins and essence) When you play coop the individual rewards are sent to each player. So for example if when playing solo you get 20 coins, when playing in a 2 player team you will get 20 coins each from the same type of room in the same world. So when you play in coop you do get more stuff, but it is always divided among players so that one of them cant "steal everything"
@@SolsticeZeta thank you so much for the explanation! I was worried it would be a first come first serve type of resource gathering and that never works out in my friend group and always leads to issues. Going to pick up a few copies later this week!
It feels very weird that it looks like the game has a unique art style, has developed a world with its own aesthetics (looks like it's based on native South American cultures), characters that fit into that world with their own stories, and then also the protagonist from A Hat in Time is there as one of the main playable characters. It seems like it would very immersion breaking
This review honestly sums up my thoughts on the game really well. I really wanted to like this game, but it suffers HARD from repetition. For me, the game fails as a roguelike, because whereas other roguelikes such as Binding of Isaac, Nuclear Throne, or One Step from Eden manage to switch up the gameplay enough for me to keep coming back, Tunche... didn't. At least, not enough for me to say this was a solid experience I'd go back to. The character upgrades, Spiritual cores, and the thing Ogi changing up the levels or something was the largest extent the game did to properly switch gameplay up every time you died. Though it made it easier to reach the end, it did not cut through the repetition of having to go through the same area and having to fight the same enemies over and over again spamming the same moves. And the other characters might be cool, but the repetition of the gameplay loop, how slowly you gain exp, and having to start from scratch with the others did not want me to go through the same journey again. To me, it kinda just feels like the Game Developers failed to understand what made great roguelikes like Binding of Isaac or Nuclear Throne so great, and why players kept coming back time and time again. You don't need to switch up weapons or movesets, but you can at least switch up the environments and monsters you fight through every death. Hopefully the game Developers return and expand on the core gameplay loop, maybe add some additional enemies each run that won't appear every time, some more minibosses that are different each, maybe add some differing rooms with unique challenges, anything that works with the core mechanics of the game. Because to me, variety is what's missing to what would otherwise be a very solid game.
I remember testing this game almost 2 years ago in the Lima Game Fest and the "no enemies spawn" bug was still there. It seems they spent the last 2 years on Hat Kid, lol
Because the devs were desperate for the game to get traction and attention. I guarantee that no one would be talking about this game if Hat Kid was absent from this game.
@@FrahdChikun Eh, hard disagree there. It was featured on a Nintendo Direct and that's enough to get my attention ! Get Fuga: Melodies of Steel if you haven't, too~
lots of these complaints seem to simply be an issue with the rpg beat'em up genre. river city, castle crashers, charlie murder, scot pilgrim, phantom breaker battleground, all has these traits. So I'm less interested in them being noticed and more interested in the details of the execution of these aspects. Like okay its apparently slow to expand your moveset and level up. But relative to what? Most beat'em ups are pretty much designed to be beatable with their base movesets. Thats not saying much about the game itself and more of having issues with the genre. Which kind of colours your opinion on critiquing the game in and of itself since you're too focused on it to really say what makes it different within the genre.
it's not even slow to expand your moveset and level up, it's incredibly fast. one session of playing and you will have most of the relevant combos unlocked for one character. If anything, it could be slower. Repetition is a thing, but that didn't stop Hades from being amazing. Aside from the legitimate bugs a lot of criticism in this video was superficial and/or misplaced.
OK, this looks nice and all, but why and how is Hat Kid here? I mean don't get me wrong, she's welcome, but she super clashes with the rest of the game ^^ (then again she IS supposed to be a time travelling alien, so she can probably do whatever)
It's more like, the foundations are solid, but you still need to build on top of it. Unlike other games where the solution to their problems is to basically scrap entire aspects and do something else.
so....a castle crasher clone? but with text reading rather than fully animated sections? its seems pretty repetitive whe olde rgames had, bosses and huge areas of different kind of maps, sneaking and battles on moving maps.
I really like the art style but I don't like the fact that it's a roguelike/lite. My dislike for roguelikes/lites is so strong that I won't even play Hades so it feels like a miss for me.

The game is pretty fantastical and stylized, so the inclusion of Hat Kid honestly did nothing to break immersion or seem out of place for me.
Tbf she is a time travelling space explorer . She probably crashed her ship there
Its just about Peruvian folklore, the game itself was made in Peru.
All the bosses and the Tunche himself are legends from peruvian jungle.
@@aikikaname6508 if you play as HK the game tells you how she got there. It is a bit silly but at least there is a reason.
No it dont
Maybe a good game for younger players - with fairly easy fight mode but still great characters and treats.
Hat Kid? Already 10/10

I’d still like to see a review of madness project nexus
I love A Hat in Time and Hat Kid is a great character. But she *really* looks and feels out of place here.
For real when he said Hat kid i was like oh... wait huh? why lol
Wrong
you had me at side scrolling beat'em up
Games like these should be short and sweet. They should stop before they get boring.
It's free on Epic.
Watching it on video and reading the comments is more enjoyable. I avoid button mashing games atm 😅
I swear 90% of the sale was because they saw Hat kid
Tunche: the only game where buying upgraded versions of the moves can make then worse
I see the kid from Hatty Time!
a comment to please our almighty overlord and feed engagement to the algorithm!
Wait is it out finally?
Today, yes
Pity that the delay didn't add a little more flesh to the bones
Why is Hat Kid here?
Why wouldn't she be there ?

sad. that what happens if they dont have a good game mechanics person. Which most games don't have now a days.
Its free on epic games so im gonna pick it up.

But what about dem drums tho’..dam..
I guess if you're craving a Castle Crashers 2 this is a good way to satiate the hunger

On sale on Xbox for 7 $ time to get 😂
I love beat em ups. But I'm not a fan of roguelites
Cool 🇵🇪
repetition is the big problem in this game
1 minute club?
Looks like a meh clone of Castle Crashers.
Cool that Hat Kid is in it though.
A shame about the gameplay... the animation is spectacular.
I don't think cute art mixes well with beat'em up.
2 reviews I watch from you , 2 times I see a trend of you wanting games to be easy and fast. Not my style
hm
Instantly sold after seeing just a few seconds of gameplay.
I really like the art style but I don't like the fact that it's a roguelike/lite. My dislike for roguelikes/lites is so strong that I won't even play Hades so it feels like a miss for me.
Wait you haven't play Hades? Go on and PLAY IT!! I swear Hades is really good and I DON'T like rogue likes or lites, hades is the exception.
@Be Headed Oh yeah I forgot the comment section is only for to answer questions
Also wasn’t a fan of the genre till I played Returnal and Hades. I’d give them a go.
@Be Headed *I asked.*
