If you look closely on the picture next to Johnnys hand that is holding mic is a younger version of guy who gives you question about what happened in the Rainbow Cadenza Samurai concert. Now that is attention to detail.
The way I interpret the version that plays in the ending is that this one was performed by Johnny for Alt, and although V doesn't "perform" the one that plays in the credits I feel like that version is coming from V to Johnny. Which is why the style of song and emotion invoked by it is completely different because V is a whole generation apart from Johnny and also had a different relationship with Johnny that what he had with Alt. Just my two enny's though.
