When I was in Boy Scouts I was the official troop cook. I learned to cook making pots of Hamburger Helper and piles of scrambled eggs and Spam over campfires.
This totally takes me back to dorm cooking days, my go to was two packs of chicken ramen, can of tuna, can of corn, cheese and don't forget ketchup. Love the videos much love my friend. Shout-out Joliet!
Beans and rice, or pasta marinara with some veg added, were my weeknight college go tos. I hit the food blogs hard in the early aughts though and loved cooking fun stuff when I could afford it.
Looks delicious. Used to eat pasta-roni with popcorn chicken regularly. First real meal I remember making regularly was patty melts and tater tots. My go to after school when I was in the 6th grade. I say patty melt, but it was made with white bread. My parents weren't buying anything other than the cheapest bread at the store. Still learned a lot about grilling burger and toast in a pan and make them for my family at least once a month.
My go-to was Knorr (nee Lipton) envelopes, switching up the flavors and between pasta and rice. My protein of choice was tuna and I guess hot dogs or sausages, though not often enough that I even remember those meals. I added some type of frozen veggies, my favorite being "mixed vegetables (yes, VEGETABLES, I'm not a Neanderthal). I probably had some combination of those ingredients three times a week. I'm still here. 😄
This is shit that I used to do,and still do,those creations growing up just hit so hard. Even spaghettios (your favorite) over the tyson patties with parm and pepper. Plus some were made under the influence and I still love them,I'm making this lol
Back in Boston in the early 90s I would stop at Legal Seafood and pick up a quart of fish chowder. At home cook up some pasta, and heat up some frozen peas and add the fish chowder. The kids always liked that dish.
Lived on George Forman turkey burgers. "Stir Fry"- diced pan cooked chkn, frozen vegg + canned water chestnuts, bottle sauce n rice. Frozen chkn breasts- defrosted/baked in Teriyaki sauce
Sean love your vids man. You were meant to be in front of the camera. Uncle Ben's and Tyson's tenders got me thru 4 treacherous years at Penn state lmao
For me, it's as simple as it gets, but it was scrambled eggs on buttered toast for lunch. I've since upgraded it a bit and lay down slices of smoked salmon on top of the eggs.
That looks 💣! To be honest I actually prefer those Tyson patties when I make chicken parm. So good & effortless! I’ve made homemade chicken parm, very good yet a lot more work, yet there is something about those patties… So for now on, if I want the real deal, I’ll just go to a restaurant for that (support locate business) authentic experience. However, I would probably eat this version more!…
dude, i might be 8 or 9 years older than you, but this was so my comfort eating in my early 20s. i would just cut it up into the PastaRoni pastas for dinner. Damn, why is Rory Boil so savage?
Mac and cheese for me in college. I thought that was "cooking". 😂 Don't know why I never thought to buy these but I guess I'd grab pizza or go to the cafeteria when it was open. 🤷♀️
Closest I got in my really early days, was Beef Ramen - not the cup. Cooked on the stove. The package. With a slice of American cheese and a quarter cup of ketchup.
No shame in nostalgic foods from time to time I get the chicken patties cause I loved them in grade school we got them like a burger just bun and chicken patty but it was good as a kid I guess and a little ketchup and mayo made it way better
I just made some PastaRoni a couple weeks ago and was so horrible and bland, I had like 2 bites and in the trash...guess what Sean? I woke up and found the seasoning packet still sitting on the counter!!! hahahaha
I remember in college when I cooked pasta roni in college and grilled a chicken breast and my date thought I ordered out five stars Win for pasta roni on some good ass lol

Now 3 beers and a shot Iam like Woow Woow I good things to do in the morning.

I moved out at 18 and lived off of chicken nuggets from Costco and Stove Top Stuffing. 5 out of 7 nights for sure!
in my late teens/early 20s, I was a KNORR "pasta sides" alfredo (with canned chicken breast) guy, haha. very similar!
I was ENAMOURED by Hamburger Helper. You can go so high when you've been so low. Love your videos, S2S!

Thanks for being you 😊
This looked really good!!! My 1st meal I made for myself was a lb of ground beef and boxed mashed potatoes 😂
I took a college course and the first thing I remember actually cooking was 5 different ways to cook eggs! Fun times! Haven’t made my own eggs since 🤣
I used to make a Blackened Chicken Alfredo with ramen noodles. Kind of the same. But I hear ya simple and still good.
Back in Boston in the early 90s I would stop at Legal Seafood and pick up a quart of fish chowder. At home cook up some pasta, and heat up some frozen peas and add the fish chowder. The kids always liked that dish.
Thanks!
My college roommate had bruschetta once and then proceeded to make it every other day for like a month.

Tyson? Man, you sprang for the good stuff.
Hilariously, the grocery store didn’t even carry a store brand of these today.
Closest I got in my really early days, was Beef Ramen - not the cup. Cooked on the stove. The package.
With a slice of American cheese and a quarter cup of ketchup.
Kraft Mac & Cheese or Hamburger Helper.
I started watching food network at age 10 lol ❤
No shame in nostalgic foods from time to time I get the chicken patties cause I loved them in grade school we got them like a burger just bun and chicken patty but it was good as a kid I guess and a little ketchup and mayo made it way better
I love pasta roni.
I can just see Younger Seany stocking up on the 10/$10 deal at Meijer for those Pasta Ronis. 🤭
I almost mentioned that in the video, Lisa. Dead serious. I absolutely got the 10 for $10 at Meijer.
Oh my college years.. lol pretty sure I have a kid I don't know about, from back then lol. College=Drinking, Fuking, and maybe... Studying

Dropping video on Election night for views, okay cool who do you want to win?
Thanks for the election distraction!
Bruh, you were making a half pound of pasta, back in the day. 4oz of dried pasta becomes a half pound when finished cooking. You're welcome!
