the probability of any anime getting picked for anything depends on the number of people who watched it, not if it's underrated or not. You may say it's underrated in your opinion, but in reality, it's probably a very much liked anime; just not many people watch it.
I remember buying a Zetman collection at Walmart on a whim and not seeing it again for maybe 3 years and then watching it with writer and actor commentary and interviews with the writer and being half pissed about losing it in the background
