- In this video, you will learn about the nursing care of chest tubes. Chest drainage devices are used to restore negative pressure to the pleural space and drain blood and fluid using a chest tube. What is the purpose of the middle (long) tube in the 3rd chamber (the chamber farthest to the left)? Why does it have bubbles?
I was stabbed 4 years ago. Not too deep but they inserted this for safety. The most excruciating pain I've ever felt in my life was this tube going between my ribs..
someone please tell me the duration of this tube once inserted... :(
