Decluttered my fridge! Oh the many “mystery jars” of jams, olives, etc that looked really enticing on the shop shelves that didn’t live up to expectations! Out they went!
You’re right about the chipped plate. We have a few IKEA knives in the cutlery drawer that nobody prefers because they feel a bit thin and lightweight. When we are running low on knives, I end up putting the thin knife at my place at the table because I know at least I won’t be too bothered. Why should mum always get the chipped plate and the cheap knife? 😂
I had a really successful decluttering session! I got rid of a red seagrass basket, a wooden candle holder, a wooden brick mould, two struggling plants, unwanted/ill-fitting clothing, a picture and frame, a dish, an electric foot file (including charger and accessories), a used up biro, wax melts (I tried them but they gave me a headache, so I’ve gone back to natural essential oils!) and some cleaning rags that are too worn out to use. I must admit that I’m surprised at how much I found! Thank you for your inspiration ❤
I’m trying to use this philosophy for decluttering and organizing our basement after m parents’ and m husbands’ parents things have migrated there on top of our things. 😅
Frankincense is good for mature skin. We've just applied a fresh mix of peppermint and eucalyptus around door and window frames in an attempt to keep the darn spiders out! Please someone advise if we should use something else. The shop we always bought such things is no longer here. Tossed my slippers as they had become a tripping hazard.
I love that pink bag!!! I wish I was part of your trading group. 😔 I too have a "uniform " for daily wear and I put them together ahead of time as well. 👍 It make dressing time so much easier. 😊 I love your content and the way you present it. Very calm and classy... except the intro 😂 with your pom poms. I like the positive vibe it gives. Keep up the good work and love Dr Who. ❤️
Aye - Aye - Captain ! I have a Starfrit spiralizer in probation then I come across a recipe that calls for zucchini noodles ugh my struggle is real for the spiralizer as it's been in and out of probation what feels like forever 🤣On the flip side was able to declutter all this stuff for the week - a wok, 4 ramekins, 2 roasting pots, tongs, wooden fork, chop sticks, meat platter and serving bowl - yeah! That kitchen is getting mighty slim. Heat wave upon us with 40+C humidex so decluttering recipes either written or computer saved, I figure it's still progress.
I have my ticket and am consistently decluttering. As you say, once you find one item, it doesn't stop there. There is always something else that that one thing suggests need to go too! I am also using up my toiletries and looking after myself much more as a result of concentrating on my evening routine.
Currently 38 weeks pregnant with my second. I'm signed up for Get Organised but who knows if I'll make it. 😅 Guess that's up to baby. Looking forward to hopefully seeing you then.
Thank you for the inspiration! I am decluttering some canning jars today. My local charity shop will sell them, and the money will go to children's programs. 🦋
I used to “dress” each day as you do when I went to a corporate/professional job. I have kept parts of my beloved wardrobe because I love how they look in my closet. (Shameful, I know) I exist these days and for the past decade in blue jeans and cotton T-shirts, and no makeup-I’m in the US where super casual is the norm. How how HOW do I ever get back into dressing again without looking ridiculous? I honestly struggle with this. And to make matters worse my nice clothes are not my size anymore. I literally don’t know how to reverse course. I feel like I’m doomed to be a hobo forever-the kids are in college and I have no excuse to not be casual and “dress up” as folks here see it. Your advice is appreciated.
Just a suggestion but if you can buy 1 new top that is lightly more dressy than your usual, then let 1 item go that doesn’t fit. Over time you will slowly switch things out and have items that make you feel great. It is easier to let just 1 item go then to go crazy and get rid of your previous favs in one sweep. Wishing you success, a step at a time.
Hi Isabelle! Just take it slowly - choosing your outfit the day before will help (put together jeans, a t-shirt, a coloured cardigan or blazer and your favourite earrings or necklace). Add a little touch of makeup and a spritz of perfume, take a few minutes to style your hair. It's the little things which will make you feel special! Pick up an inexpensive colourful scarf next time you are shopping and use that to add a little interest to you outfit (I have a short video here on how I tie mine ruclips.net/video/-klQf1RebqM/видео.htmlsi=3CEQ6QIDNWfVSZ9H ). Check out Dressing Your Truth (a free course at dressingyourtruth.com ) which will point you in the right direction! It's how I got my confidence back! Good luck!
Great job.. thank you for the encouragement. I have been working on my home all summer. I have taken about 9 boxes.. not little ones either. An entire boxes of mugs, glasses and stim-ware too. All kinds for things too. I love divesting my self of “stuff”. Thank you!
Found a book of matches that won’t strike. Easy toss. 😂 I like to put a drop of essential oil in the toilet bowl after I clean the bathroom and in the kitchen drain after cleaning the kitchen. (p.s. I would describe you as sweet, but I understand what you mean.)
Try checking your settings...mine did the same the last couple of days (I was trying to figure out what the problem was, thought it was when I was filming) but it was the sound setting on my phone! (I think there was an update)
@@janellerowe609 I seem to have inadvertenly switched to mono 😰 but I changed the settings on my phone so I can hear it in stereo as a workaround. Sorry!
Hi Abundant Life! Thanks for watching, hope you find a different RUclipsr who is more to your taste. (I personally prefer the description "light and bright" instead of "flighty" as it's less shaming). Have a wonderful day! 😃
"if you have lost the plot a bit..." Yes to culling day by day, week by week, going through the areas of the home bit by bit. The gigantic declutter can lead to decision fatigue and overwhelm. Little by little, shifting trajectory creates lasting change.
Merci Diane de nous inspirer ! Le désencombrement fait partie de mon quotidien et allège grandement ma charge mentale. Plus je me sépare de choses inutiles, plus je retrouve facilement celles dont j'ai besoin . 😊❤
Got a procedure today to help with my illness and I’m excited to be back on the mend and back in my routines! It has been nice to intentionally step back and prioritize my health, but I’m ready to be back! Thanks for the inspiration Diane!
You are inspirational and have got me off my bahookie 😂 decluttered an old drawer and found some cash i had squirreled away. We are early finished renovating our retirement house and it will be so clutter free and organised thanks to your uplifting and energetic videos. You have also let me ralise that while you are always upbeat you too have those blah days😊 thankyou for your honesty ❤
Been watching you since 2019, have now visited Copenhagen twice thanks to you - and found this video particularly inspiring. New term, renewed flylady THANK YOU
I also use essential oils in an electric defuser in my living room on the fireplace hearth to freshen the air when I dust and vacuum. Several years ago, it was a gift from my daughter-in-law, Rebekah for Mother's Day. I like all of the different scents, especially lavender. You taught me how to use the Flylady Cleaning System and my house is getting decluttered and cleaned better than ever. I feel guilty because I have so much more free time these days. Because of my age, 78 years young, I skip past the Monday morning Home Blessing Hour and go straight to the Zone Cleaning depending on which week we are in. You are so cheerful and fun to watch during my 15-minute resting periods.
I’m watching from Texas and you made me smile when you were talking about giving your friend the sewing items and you said “ya’ll”. Even funnier that you were wearing your overalls when you said it.
I'm with you on the frankincense oil...don't care for it. It could be the brand, because some people love it. I used it to clean off my incense burner. My favorite essential oil is also sweet orange. Pine scents are also nice. Lavender is sometimes good...sometimes not. I'd like to try a small waterless diffuser like yours. The water diffusers were somewhat disappointing...gave me breathing problems and needed too much oil. Also an "Aye aye Captain" on ditching chipped plates and cups. I cut my lip on one.
My husband and I are decluttering three garages and a huge barn where we store our RV. We are selling a few things. Using up old paint or pitching. Looking good. Happy
Hi Diane, I declutterd: a rug/blanket that I received as a gift that was very scratchy and not soft at all. I also decluttered a ball tha my child is no long using. Yay!
