This week, we dive back into renovating our French farmhouse, focusing on getting the kitchen floor to the next stage. After prepping the beams last week, it’s time to insulate. Installing the thermal foil and insulation was a challenging, dusty task, but the results were worth it. At the same time, we had to figure out how to transport 2 tons of pellets to the house, making sure we're prepared for the winter ahead, even though we're hoping for some better weather soon!
Once the insulation was in, we could finally start reinstalling the wooden floor we removed earlier. Of course, it wasn't as easy as it sounded, but Bram worked his magic and did an incredible job. While the renovation pace is picking up, we still take time to relax, enjoying the breathtaking sunsets that remind us why we moved to the French countryside in the first place.
But that’s not all. Since we got back, I’ve been itching to check something out-we’ve got a permit for a swimming pool! The challenge? Digging through rocky ground. We started testing the area, but as expected, hit a lot of rocks. This pool project might be trickier than we thought, but we’re always up for a challenge!

Guys, I admire you, 2 young guys have the courage and knowledge to renovate an old house, raise a baby and take care of 2 dogs, Chapeau 👍👍❤️❤️
Thanks so much. Haha it’s a lot of you sum it up like that. Have a great weekend. Take care.
Saludos desde Chiapas, México. Old queer here. I really appreciate how you fellas are so careful with all your endeavours, even by numbering and reusing the old floorboards. It looks so much better and authentic. Oh and Nox is such a beautiful baby. Felicidades y bendiciones! Un gran abrazo.
Pools are not only expensive, they are maintenance! Constant maintenance.
We want both! But a pool is a must when renting out apartments in the south of France. Thanks so much. Have a wonderful weekend!
It is so lovely to see the progress on the kitchen, I can’t wait to see how the finished floors come out.Bram has such a big smile when he’s in his element doing electrical work. Little Nox is such a little sweetheart. Lastly, I’m happy to see you are getting sponsorships now as they will really help offset some of your expenses. Great work guys, you’re my favorite channel.
Nox is gorgeous and thriving, she has a good life filled with love ahead of her. Both of you and Archie and Luna look content and happy. The dogs are coping remarkable well with all the changes that are going on around them. The perfect family.
Nox is doing very well! Thanks. The dogs are just happy to have some space run and play. They don’t really care about all the other things happening haha. Take care!
Nox is such a cutie pie! I put in a pool after I sold my lake house and bought a Queen Anne. It was the center piece of the garden, had a waterfall. Here in Texas we could sometimes use it in winter. They are lots of maintenance, and expense. Lot's of fun though!😊
Nox is the best! Haha the pool is enough expenses for now. Thanks. Have a wonderful weekend. Take care.
Love watching your progress and Nox with her daddy’s ❤
Love watching you both, always happy. Nox is changing every time we see her❤
Knox is absolutely beautiful!!!! You’re both doing great, just remember it’s always one step at a time, don’t think about anything other than what’s in front of you, it really will all get done!
The Boulangerie gives me goosebumps!
It’s delicious haha. Take care.
Nox is growing quickly and she is lovely. No doubt the two of you are tired (all new parents are) but there is a noticeable joy on your faces these days. I'm pretty sure most of that is because of Nox - both the joy of having her in your lives, and the stresses of traveling back and forth, legalities and paperwork, etc. are now all behind you. I'm so happy for you all!
Great photography again. Looks like Nox might some red in her hair. Iy's nice to see the renovation continue, the dogs getting attention, and still smiling and happy. BUSY BOYS!
Thanks so much. Everything is back to normal and Nox is doing amazing. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hey! Great video! The house is coming along well. Nox, of course, is adorable!
👋🇲🇽.Saludos from Mexico. We love you guys and the channel. I can't wait to see Bram's plumbing and electrical for the pool. It will be amazing. Saving the original floor is brilliant. Abrazos ❤❤❤
Like how you numbered the flooring boards
Thanks! Have a lovely weekend!
My God, I feel exhausted watching how hard you work! I never knew Southern France had so much rainfall, for some reason I always thought that it was a dryer region of France. Wishing you well for the next week on all the jobs you are going to do.
Haha thanks so much. It’s not normal at all to have so much rain. Not in the spring nor in the fall. But this year is different from all other years. Hopefully next year it’s back to normal again. Have a great weekend. Take care.
Hi from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
So enjoyed this weeks vlog. Impressed by the progress on the house, loved seeing Nox awake and alert ❤, enjoyed the really lovely outside shots and always enjoy watching you two interact. 😂.
Bram, you are right. The pool isn't too big.
About the swimming pool: create a 50m Olympic pool and invite swimmers/triathletes for training camps! Your area is great for cycling so a large pool will be a fantastic combination! (no I'm not going to do the digging or maintenance :D )
Hahaha that would be great but I think we will stick with the smaller pool thanks. Have a great weekend. Take care.
Great idea. 😂
Nice week guys. Looking forward to seeing the restored floor and how the pool works out. Thanks for sharing! 👍
❤❤❤❤
👍👍👍👍
Have a wonderful weekend
Have a lovely weekend too! Thanks. Take care.
Thank you for another wonderful video. Nox is so pretty.
Nox is the best! Have a lovely weekend.
DEFINITELY go smaller with the pool. We installed a pool 2 years ago and we were surprised at the cost of the chemicals. Our water is beautiful but we are spending $600-700 a year on chemicals for a smallish pool. A large pool would be even more. Our pool is heated with an automatic cover. We love it but there is a lot of maintenance.
Thanks so much. Yeah that’s what we thought! It’s for the rentals so it has to be a bit bigger than we would do for ourselves but it has to be manageable. Take care!
@@vangaze How many people to you anticipate living in the apartments?
@@vangazeWhy not make a natural pool? Such one doesn't need chemicals, if l'm not wrong.
Great progress guys. I love the happy feel of your videos ❤❤
Beau travail les garçons
Merci! Bon weekend!
thank you for the bread.
Before u both say that u r both cute too, Nox is soooooo cute now! Perhaps not at 04.30 when she hasnt slept at that point but u kno what i mean!
Love the floor - you ahve made such an impressive job of that. I presume you will sand it down and polish it like in Nox’s room?
I think the swimming pool idea is great! Heating it - ummm not sure about that but go big! You have lots of space. Can u hire a JCB for a week which will make it easier or does JCB not exist in France?
Have a great week and see you soon!
Haha she is very cute and doing very well! The floor will be the same as everywhere in the house. Can’t wait:)
Haha I think they do. We first going to try with what we have but that would be an option.
Have a lovely weekend! Take care.
Wating for your video uncles 😅😅😅😅😅
Hope you liked it :) thanks. Take care.
Haha leuk! Enjoy!
Did you treat for woodwork love yo channel you guys have the cutest baby ever
