This is the first I’ve heard two people from such different walks of life dialogue with each other (Paul and Carlo differ tremendously in experience, culture and training). In some way their conversation is disjointed but, if you allow for that, you also see the overlap in the respect for the sacred. I dare say I am seeing Paul be mentored here a bit and there is absolutely nothing wrong with a man showing humility and openness like that. Anyway, there are a lot of gems in this interview. Thank you all for putting it together.
Thank you for the enlightening conversation. I agree with what Paul said about the traditionalist movement being built on shaky foundations. For example, when Jordan Peterson preaches about getting married and having children, it's very shortsighted and one dimensional. He fails to mention spirituality, going inward and seeking eternal truth as parts of the equation. As Carlo said: "If you seek god, you will rediscover tradition. It comes from the desire for the eternal."
I am really happy that you are furthering your connection with Kingsnorth, Mark. I very much connect with the way he speaks about what he perceives in the world. I also appreciate that while he speaks of the wider world his presence and personal attention/time remains local. This focus on the local, (family, church, environment, etc.), sets a great example for me. Thanks!

You gotta notice how the Italian mind is constantly contextualizing, putting into place. And the contextualizing calms, mercy. Heals the body/soul. Dr Peterson’s recent conversation with Dr Huberman seems an explanation perhaps: possibility through imagination calms. Context is always creative and quite fascinating as well. Amazing discussion! Science has built in limitations. Like... Life is Not Inherent in atoms and lifeless molecules. Also, the Values of love, beauty, goodness and altruism are important human traits, but science cannot quantify the traits' values in the human condition.
Marcas I was sad to hear you mention what Jonathan Pageau said about the resurrection. I heard that discussion. No..Jesus made it quite clear to his disciples that he was resurrected with a physical body.They were not unsure about whether it had happened in reality. He ate with them. And if the resurrection were a kind of fiction then what of His turning water into wine? Was that also a mere symbol? Walking on water? Feeding the five thousand? This to me seems to be leaning toward Gnosticism where flesh and blood reality is substituted with "Secret Principles" that anybody can have access to, including Jordan Peterson and Douglas Murray, without believing the truth of scripture.. I was hoping that Jonathan could bring them to true faith but it seems that he has lowered the level of discourse to accommodate them. Not good. I pray he sees his error.
I appreciate where you're coming from. I agree and Jonathan does too. Funny, I appreciated what Jonathan said because it doesn't reduce the Resurrection to just the physical changes in the body, etc. It is that but more. Much more. C.S. Lewis's Myth made fact. Maybe we can make it clearer in further discussions.
