    Bonjour Tracy and Budo, OMG the plaster board is up, Yay... moving along. Tracy you will be cooking very soon and making Budo his favorite ice cream. First " just stand there and look pretty" I love that Budo said that to you. The garden is amazing, that Zucchini was huge. Well done. Love from N.Y.

    Gratis workshop, but for drilling plasterboard there is a special drillbit with a plastic top with a spring in it. This works fantastic because the screws ende Just beloofd the surface of the plasterboard so its easy to finish off.

    You work together so well. I can not do anything right when I do a job. I stained and varnished the trim to get the kitchen completed, but my other half does not like my work. The trim just sits and nothing is done. You are lucky Tracy that Budo lets you help without criticising you. Your kitchen is going to be up and running in no time at all and Tracy can put her kitchen together and then start cooking classes for us.

    Kitchen is coming along nicely…won’t be long now. Tracey, your garden looks so nice. I really admire all the work you put in…your flowers are just spectacular. I don’t know how you accomplish so much. You and Budo are better working together than my late husband and I were. I remember the last time he made home made noodles he said, “I promise if you help me with the electric cutter, I won’t get mad and yell at you.” I still chuckle thinking about it and his little boy facial expression as he said it. You see he was Italian and I was Irish and I just couldn’t seem to get it right when we tried a joint task…you two are obviously better suited working together for this type of work. He and I were married 50 years and now he’s gone and after 8 years I still miss him. Thanks for reminding me of a little memory into my wedded bliss…PS at least I’m not still seeing the man playing bagpipes in your lavender field. Watching from PA, USA.

    A Tracy question: well a couple of questions. 1. How much of the garden did you direct seed v seedling plant this year ?
    2. You mention a future poly tunnel, have you considered a low poly tunnel using your exiting hoop system for season extension?
    3. What are your go to books for the garden ? Mine are by Jean-Martin Fortier, he is a small scale organic grower in Montreal -- I am growing on a tiny scale at 7500 feet in the Rockies, a fun challenge.
    Rock on.

    • @FrenchFarmhouseDiaries
      @FrenchFarmhouseDiaries  Месяц назад +2

      Hi Sorry we don't no your name but we are happy to answer your questions we directly seeded our garden this year but that will change soon as we have a poly tunnel which i will build from wood and poly carbonate sheeting Charles Dowding is the main gardener we follow with a no dig and eventually a mulch garden system we also have read jean-martin Fortier but he's more about commercial growing for profit in a sort of organic way and has some good ideas but it all seems more about money with his system we are truly organic with land that hasn't been grown or farmed on for over 50 years we use only organic old style seeds from old breeds and we make our own compost from the land and from cows and horse manure from our friends who keep them organically old style farming if you know what i mean but great questions and thank you for them all the best Budo 👍🏻

    Shouldn't the plasterboard be 10mm off the finish floor to stop water creeping up the plasterboard in the event of water spillage or cleaning the floor, that what we detail in the uk.

    • @FrenchFarmhouseDiaries
      @FrenchFarmhouseDiaries  2 месяца назад +1

      Hi John yes in the UK that's correct between 10 to 20 mm mate there is a different system in play here and it's about stopping drafts which are every day occurance were water would be once in a blue moon and the suspended floor would make any light floods drain straight away 😉 great question cheers buddy 👍🏻
