Yeah if you use her ability near certain locations or open spaces with no well you’ll get owned, using her ability with a well nearby is always the safest
I was Connie last victim standing on Nancy's house earlier against a good team. Ana got out in a min or so via house. I used my ability on battery sliding door and then looped around for the house. Massive distraction and it worked. Honestly though I would normally save it for last door if rushing. Otherwise just opens the map
Maria is probably my favorite victim to play. I love her ability even if it isn't meta compared to someone like Connie. And i love that grandpa can't spot you if you go near him.
Johnny is a literal cheat code. He magically covers stupid amounts of ground even if you're way out in front of him as his swing mechanic strangely seems to almost make him morph towards you.

If i'm out in the open, with no clear obstacles to help, even with max endurance and a clear gap between us - he gets me every damn time.

I think a lot of Sissy Johnny combos just don't know how to Patrol, in fact I'd say a lot of Family Members don't know how to. My Cousin and I play Sissy Johnny a lot and we're always shifting and covering for each other. As for not relying on others, that is completely true. Never rely on anyone but yourself. They do not care about you, you all just share a common goal that's it. If they had a gun to your head and it was you or them, they're obviously choosing themselves. Only help others when you know you can help yourself I.E you've gotten an exit fully open.
Escaping with any victim is pretty easy if you ask me. Although playing with Connie or Danny is a guaranteed escape if your smart or unless you're up against Hands who's necessary to go up against Connie or Danny. People often say Maria and Julie are the weakest but I don't think that's true, especially if you play their roles. Maria protects the team from grandpa which is important and Julie can loop for days...
I think I've escaped with Julie more than with the others. Idk, I feel like she's the easiest to master, especially If u do a proficiency build with her. My go to îs "Efficient Locksmith","Bomb Squad" and "No sell", and when there are no trappers, I switch "Bomb Squad" with "Slippery".
I play Julie almost the same way as you and I often win too. Being a lockpicker with No Sell and Bomb squad is a really good combo, her perks make her viable even if she has a mid ability
Those hitch traps reminded me of when me and my wife was on gas station red weeks ago I was Connie got red crate open we had reset come back up hitch had all 3 traps inside red crate plus a hands trap on gate we did all traps with bomb squad soon we turned battery off they both DCed lol
I've definitely escaped more as Julie than I have as Connie. The ability to hide from Cook pings and Johnny (not as big of a deal) is great against those tryhard HH, Hands, Cook games where they have comms. I can unlock one area, get seen and well and go to the opposite end and do the same. If they don't see me, I leave the door open, well or activate ability to run to the other side and usually get out b/c they think I'm at the other end. Works 80% of the time cause Cook/Johnny can't find me. Connie on the other hand... gets focused TF down. If you rush and don't get seen, I've seen her escape in 40 seconds. It's nuts. Ana is the hardest for me to play. I feel like Family have REALLY high damage output now. Johnny still managed to kill me when I jump through Fam House window and used ability to the well. She's definitely team dependent cause sometimes I do great at distracting or taking hits but no one does anything lol.

will you do this for family? I’d say best is hands and leatherface while worst is sissy and Nancy. Also I think Virginia is just a tier above Ana. She has the best base stats aswell as a great ability. Yeah she has no bomb squad but I don’t think she needs it.
connie mains have been dying first since the universe formed. I would say Leland, Ana, and Virginia are the beginner characters / easiest to survive a match with good teammates vs. Julie, or Maria. Danny, Connie, and Sonny completely depend on if the person playing them can play at a slow and steady pace well
julie then maria then virginia then danny then anna then leland then sonny then connie - my list of hardest to easiest.. julie shines on generator exits mainly

Fairly new player here - main as Connie, with Sonny as a back up and most recently, Maria. Had the most success with Connie and Sonny but they're paper thin when it comes to conflict. You get caught in the open or in a tunnel, it's game over. Maria is growing on me - boosted proficiency & Endurance, coupled with B*mb Squad, Overlooked and Stunt double - she's doing pretty well, so far. (I absolutely suck at this game though. Don;t think I have more than about a 20% escape rate, lol)
Victim is just too annoying to play now, Hands/Hitchhiker combo is just so unfair and deadly you have to play perfect to survive. And as you've seen in these games, if you do happen to get a chance to escape as victim, all the Family just dc like bro... the games become more frustrating than they are satisfying
I have 70 % winrate as Victims and I main Julie and Maria, it is really rare I play someone else lol I play them as lockpicker though, that’s why I often win I think to me the worst Victim is Sonny because I suck with him lol
Yeah fk the team they get you killed or die most the time plenty of times they stand in the way end up getting you killed or they play the dumbest plays end up causing the whole team to crash I feel like if you get atleast one whole route unlocked you can if you want help the team escape but that doesn’t play out well for you
I feel like they should buff Maria's stats (maybe +5 base proficiency points). I don't know, it seems like she's kind of bad at everything😢 (especially after the grapple rework)😅

Family complained about Danny but hands us 3 full abilities. They destroyed thier game with the grapple update, messed up stamina. Health matters more than ur strength. Idk it’s dying
