- Bon Appétit’s Brad Leone is back for episode 66 of It’s Alive, and this time he’s making an open-face tomato sandwich. I can’t get enough of this guy! Super chill, funny and knows what he’s doing, ( even though sometimes it seems he doesn’t). But...that’s the beauty of it!! He makes some wicked creations, definitely knows what he’s doing and puts a laid back spin on getting into the kitchen and having fun, all the while eating well. Don’t take life too seriously....don’t take food too seriously....just go with the flow. Keep it up Brad. The entire premise of this show is fantastic and enjoyable to watch.

You may find you don't like store bought tomatoes.
My husband hates uncooked tomatoes unless they come out of our garden because they taste so much different to the ones at the store that are picked green and refrigerated which ruins the flavour.
Unless of course it's a texture thing, and then I totally get you as some textures I just can't do.

I had in my head what this would taste like, and got all the ingredients for it and even made homemade baguettes, and it was 2x better than I even imagined it being!
this is an example of respectful advertising/sponsorship. It's like, "hey can you eat some tomatoes that we grew, and come see how we grow them so people might take a chance on a supermarket tomato?" That grow house was super cool, and Brad, you are sunbeams and a tone setter of days.

The irony being that the flame was so small the camera barely picked it up. I don't think you get an accurate representation either way, but based on the char and cook time I'm guessing medium to low, or 3 to 5 on electric stove.
