I have lost count on how many knives I got from you, but I have never needed to reshape a handle. I have worn quite a few smooth, so this video really helps! I now have some more projects ahead LOL. Thanks William!
Mr.Collins, would you re handle a knife if sent to you? We must have the same size hands because the contours fit perfectly, however I’d like a different micarta and liners
Not sure I understand the question. If they are new knives, I made, sanding is how the handles are shaped so sanding is a big part of it. New knives you buy the fibers has to be roughed up to accept the oil so still sanding is the prep.
@@wcknives Sorry about that. With a new knife, would I start with heating the handle, then addong teak oil? Sanding isn't necessary because you already did it.
@@BeSeeP if it is a new knife from me I already sealed the handle with teak oil. So you don’t need to to do anything unless you want to reshape or rough up the handle but before applying any oil you must use sandpaper to rough up the fibers so they will soak up the oil.
Great tutorial! I love customizing my stuff, and this was the exact video I was searching for. Thank you!

Sorry but I keep such a back log that I only have time to work on knife orders. Appreciate your interest though.
No problem. Being busy is a good thing. Just make sure you find time to enjoy the outdoors.
For new knives, do you skip the sanding step?

@@wcknives awesome, glad I asked! Thanks William, I have older knives that are slick that could use your method.
