I lost a finger to a prop. I did not like launching the Optura with a usher prop. I had no camera for the front. I moved the motor and prop to the front. It was very easy to do. To retain the CG, I mounted a 3200 3cell in the back of the body cavity. It fit well. Now I have an Optura that is fun to launch.
Man I wish I could afford this wing. I'm only thirteen, so I don't have much cash, and my parents don't really enjoy me flying planes, they think it's a waste of time, and that I should do more school work. I get straight A's tho so I don't under stand. What ever. Loved the vid!
Will Bernhardt Chores... odd jobs... put cash on credit card gift card that you can reload. not saying to defy your rents, just a creative way to get things.
Tell your parents that is complete and utter nonsenes! i started model flying when i was 9 and now i've not only built a ton of planes myself, for less that 40 bucks each, but im also a student pilot turning flying into a career (im 16 now). I'd say school is a waste of time! Go out there, fly, and follow your dreams man!
If the wing is designed for flight time / payload, what is the envelope for that? How long with what weight, etc.? And how does that compare with conventional wing/tail craft of the same wing area?
what would happen if you inverted the aileron wires on an AS3X plane and inverted the roll on your transmitter? how long can you keep the plane in the air before crashing? if the plane survives the first crash, maybe make a competition out of it. also probably best to not use a flying wing since it only has 2 servos to invert.
hi Guys, just watched your review of the E Flight Opterra. how quick was it to adjust the CG when you added your FPV gear? you mentioned the weights but nothing about resetting the CG. From what I have heard, wings need to have the correct CG to fly properly. Look forward to hearing back

Does the 'SAFE' mean that there's no point in my getting one of these as I couldn't fly this with my Hitec Flash 7 Tx? Instead I'd have to go out & buy a Spectrum Tx to fly this thing?

Hay guys my brother and i are getting back in to fixed wing flying still flying quads but this Optera is just amasing! Any was was out flying to day in ireland and did my longest flight ever l.o.s and on the way back just in front of us lost all control nuting! wing kept flying then 5 seconds just before it hit the deck she kicked back in so landed her safe. would you have any idea what might have done this? hand set is a DX8 and was fully charged. thanks PS. love the show keep up the good work.
The recommendation is for a single 2200mah - It appears to be around the size of the MTD - into which they packed 35,000 mah; achieving a 200 kilometer flight. How much can this thing really carry. It looks to be a better package than the MTD for sheer aerodynamic cleanliness. The motor sounds like a beast and it flies beautifully.

masking tape is too heavy and useless at high speeds

Getting ready to build a UHF version with either APM Pro w/GPS or the A3 Super II. Any suggestions? Leaning toward the APM because of the GPS.
