@@jsuwheiwnwsa3570 actually the original point of different keys was just to allow modulation. It's the whole reason we went from a 7-note diatonic scale very long ago to gradually adding the 5 chromatic notes one by one. Different keys having their own feelings and different vibes was the point back when unequal 12-note tunings were used which actually had different audible characteristics for the different keys (major thirds, minor thirds, perfect fifths, etc. had variance in exact size depending on what key you were playing in), so if someone wanted to play in a major key with a relaxed feel, they'd choose C major or something close to it in the circle of fifths, and if they wanted a more restless key, they'd choose F# major or C# major (the belief that D minor is the saddest key originates from when 12-note unequal tunings were used. Nowadays, D minor has the exact same interval sizes and resulting harmony as any other minor key). Anyway, this is why Bach wrote a piece in the 12 major and 12 minor keys for the Well-Tempered Clavier- to highlight the unique feelings and vibes that each key has. Unfortunately most people today listen to or play them in equal temperament, which takes away the audible characteristics of different keys. But now that we use equal temperament (which no longer has some keys with harmony more consonant/in tune than others, but instead makes every major third, minor third, perfect fifth, etc. the exact same size), most people can't actually reliably notice different keys as having "their own feelings and different vibes" unless they already know what key the song is in (either from being told, seeing it on the piano, or having perfect pitch) and have subjective (yet only existing in their mind) associations of what each key auditorily feels like, or associations of some learned concept of brightness/darkness of a key depending on how many sharps or flats it has. Like personally, A major sounds brighter to me than C major, and Eb major sounds more mellow to me than C major- those are associations I learned based on what keys have what number of sharps/flats, but those associations I have are not inherent to how each key actually acoustically sounds. So to someone without perfect pitch or great pitch memory who doesn't know what key the song they're listening to is (a large percent of people), Rush E retuned to Rush Eb almost certainly wouldn't sound any different to the listener, and wouldn't actually be any different acoustically other than being slightly lower in pitch. I will of course say that, based on what someone here in the comments said, this piano arrangement has composition differences from the original Rush E arrangement ("techniques and flourishes that the earlier ones didn't have) that could let someone realize which of the two, Rush E or Rush Eb, they're listening to (an ability to hear a difference between the two unrelated to what key it's in).
For those who dont play an instrument, E is a note, and inbetween some notes are flats/sharps,we use b for flat and # for sharp,so this is rush E flat,or rush Eb
Once you've done a Rush for each note in the octave, you should make a symphony/remix of all of them in one big song with new segments called "Rush Octave"
Oh, that would be amazing. I'd totally be down for a full, multi-movement symphonic orchestration of the Rush series. I might even give it a shot myself... although that's way more ambitious than any of my previous orchestral works...
You know, I was ready to be 'tired' of these, or disappointed.
