Ten grand with no debt and a job is plenty. It's a lot more than most families right now. Just make sure wherever you find still lets you save a good amount of money.
I'm 16 years old as of August 4th 2020 and I have just hit 30k in my savings account trying to save so I can buy a USED car and a starter home by my early 20s thanks dave ramsey and his team
OMG! just wow! amazing story. the inlaws must be some amazing folks. and we all know they'll get awesome end of life care, but they really do owe them a debt of gratitude, so hopefully they do something nice for them. such loving grandparents ❣️
I'm torn on it. 3 young kids is a lot no matter where you live. We had a house but no relatives within 1000 miles so that was rough too. I would give much thanks to any relative willing to give mom a break even for 1 hour a day.
It is going to be totally worth it to move into a rental apartment or home. Slow down just a bit on the 6 month emergency fund. You and your family will find life is sweeter with more space. Get a two bedroom place for sure. You and your wife have already shown that you have been committed to getting out of debt. Bravo! When you have been settled there for 6-9 months or so then decide if you want to save up for a home. I am predicting there will be some foreclosures or quick sales coming up in the next year.
It’s amazing! Currently still live at home it’s annoying for me because my friends are all moving out but rentals cost so much here(3-600p/w) and I don’t see the worth (I have lived out of home before so know all the hidden costs too) it’s money I’m able to put away weekly after helping with bills at home, that I can later use to hopefully purchase a property instead of being stuck in a rental cycle.
❤🙏❤🙏❤My boys were forced to listen to your show for a while now. At first, they hated it, but now they look forward to it. They've learned so much and we learned the baby steps. They have applied the give, save, spend to money they started earning at ages 6&8 doing lemonade stands. Now they're working and they're on it! They're saving to have $5 million minimum by retirement each (they're 16&18), buy a car and house cash. They have an emergency fund, and yes, they "pay" rent/utilities. I'm saving that money for them but they don't know it. I just don't want them to struggle with debt like many do! They love the Lord and enjoy the feeling of giving back to Him so much they think it's selfish. That makes them want to give more. I love it and I'm super grateful to the Lord. Thank you gentlemen for doing what you do. I'm a single mom and have been prayerfully raising these tough yet loving boys and you've been part of that journey. Thank you. God bless you all!!!🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤🙏❤
Why still have more kid. I grew up in a family of 7 all in one bedroom...I resent my parents for having kids they can’t afford and making me shoulder their responsibilities. They bought their 1st home in cash after 15 years of sacrifice.... is it worth it ? No, not for me. I’ll rather have my mental well being intact as an adult.
As a single mom of 4, I am not rich by any standards (not even close), but have provided my kids a “more life” quality. I would never let my children shoulder my responsibilities. Sorry that happened to you. I feel guilty not being able to buy a big house for them. At the same time, I feel guilty not saving as much because I spend on experiences. So Torn😕
Started out good by eliminating debt, saving over $20k, and the he says they are still living at his in-laws. My jaw dropped to the floor. Ar you a man or a child?
That's my problem with most of the personalities. Dave can sometimes see the nuance in a situation and give advice specific for the situation, but most of the personalities just go with the default answer without any critical thinking.

@@kennylau9677 Yes, BUT that is NOT Gods plan. He says , do right and tithe FIRST, than pay everything else. It’ has always worked for me and my parents. It’s called FAITH. If in-laws are happy for you to be there so you can get it together, then wonderful. You just need to know when it is time to leave. They gained financial stability, now they need to ensure they keep mental stability.
Dave always tells people not to move in with a relative to save money. This guy proves that is bad advice for those who are serious about fighting through debt.
1. Move out of California if you can’t afford it 2. MOVE OUT of parents home and rent 3. Save up 3-6 emergency fund 4. get a down payment for a house Happy wife, happy life

People shouldn't be having kids when they can't even afford to move out of their parent's house. That's just a nightmare for everyone involved.
My mother in law lived with us for 2 years. It completely ruined my relationship with her, and my children's relationship with her.

My question is: Having to move into your Inlaws home due to debt.. Why did you bring another child into this already dire situation?
stop having kids if you cant afford it. Seriously
They can afford it. Calm down.

Don't know how that happens while they share a room with the kids lol.

Living with other people as a sacrifice can lead to a saving or debt pay down that may seem unfathomably quick to some, but it is a sacrifice
I am big supporter of multigenerational living, HOWEVER you have to have a house large enough to comfortably accommodate everyone.
Sadly this is all to common in California. Families living out of 1 room
And London sadly
Thank you for sharing 🙌

I swear. Living with in laws. Already in debt. Two kids and what in the eff tells them that another baby is a good idea. SMDH.
