Well Gohans hair does look somewhat like gokus at the right length, with some difference. We knownwhen he was younger, chichi pushed his hairstyle. But when left to its own devices appeared much like a knappier goku with a blocked back instead of curved. Henjust keeps it so short it only had one way to go. Makes sense. I think they recovered the differences well.
