GUYS LISTEN, If Trisha or Eiena doesn’t give the the scrolls wait a couple days go back and they’ll want you to escort back to town each to gain affinity then when you visit them again in the house they’ll give the scrolls. Even if you only gave 3 grimoires
You can duplicate the fulminous shield book and give the fake one to the woman in the nameless village.

Thanks a lot that was very helpful, I have been trying hard. That is the only quest I had to do beside hurting dragons, my team keep on attacking him and he always been sending me away. I used the outfit and I am currently a master of arm and he accept me with my bow and arrow. The outfit was the key, thanks again.
If U already made the Waldhar quest he will be in the tunel with books from the early game place, and he will give you the TOWERING EARTH

Guys, you just need 3 books for each Myrddin and Trysha, then you can say you will no longer bring books to them and the quest will go on nontheless. So if you lost 2 of them you can still save the quests with 3 books.

@ItsShatter it is true, at least it was to me, that's how it went in detail: I had lost the original copy of "let it be light" giving it to Myrddin instead of Trysha, and I thought I couldn't get meteoran anymore. I had 2 more books and I decided to give them to him before finding the others 'cause they were pretty far. So in a desperate rush of hope I made forgeries of the 2 and gave them to Myrddin. He proceeded with his line "You have proven worthy of my knowledge (or somethin like that) you need to find no more books, but you can go on with your research if you want" (not the exact words but that was the meaning).
I thought it was a trial and that if I accepted to stop I'd mess up the quest, but Trysha's quest was already lost in my mind so I said "fuck it" and accepted the option, to my surprises I received the wear, the scroll and a bunch of gold.
With my hopes revived I went to find the books I was missing (I just had 2 'cause I didn't have a forgery of let it be light) and went to Trysha's home. I did all the passages and refused to continue on the searching (I had 4 books with me but gave her just 3 originals for the sake of knowledge), I received the ring so I knew everything had worked properly. I waited and the quest progressed, in the end she gave me the meteoran scroll and her gran gave me the ultimate mage scroll.
It could still be possible that you need even less books, I didn't try giving Trysha less than 3 books 'cause I didn't want to mess up the quest more than I already had.
I'm glad it worked thou, thought I'd share this knowledge in hopes to help someone in my situation.

@@romolosatori9353 I believe this is true, but you may need to offer additional gifts (talk to them and press X on a Xbox controller) before they will give you the maister skills
was at wits end because ive been going back there for days trying to get the grandpa to leave, guess im gonna be forcefully removing him

Thanks for the help with the Spellbound, I waited ingame months with no results, turns out Eini somehow died and that blocked the quest from progressing.
Am I dim?! I did all this and have no spells to show for it. I talked them several times after completing the quest also, both Eini and the old man are alive. I'm at a lost
Just copying my comment to other guides, there are more books than what is on all the guides that I’ve seen. Here’s how you can get them:
I spent a lot of time using pilfer/plunder thieving skill on every NPC I could find (I probably missed some).
- the guy that gives you towering earth has howling blizzard as well if you steal from him.
- there is a beastren female trader that wonders through Bakbattahl, I think she sells books (I want to say her name starts with E but I can’t remember). She has a copy of towering earth that can be stolen.
- 3rd one I can’t remember who but I believe it was 1 of the two traders that frequents Harve Village. I believe they are both female from memory if that helps but since they move about you might catch them somewhere else.
People I couldn’t find / wasn’t overly bothered to find if they weren’t around but I suspect could have additional copies:
*Phaesus (I’d presume the best time to steal would be during the masquerade)
*The guy who sells you Fulminous Shield
*Various other roaming trading vendors (I found a few and as you can see above 2 of them carry grimoires).
Additionally I have a theory that if no other NPC has books you can steal, maybe the mage type wight bosses you find in tombs and the one near Checkpoint Rest Inn might (they drop to the floor during the fight at which point you can use plunder).
I probably wont be going to verify the remaining copies but hope this helps anyone looking for more copies. 🙂
Awesome guide, I’m stuck on the part where we are supposed to meet with the guard to show us the secret entrance. The guard isn’t there and when I go to the door I can’t open it, I already accepted the quest and I have the key. Any tips?
did you go at night? that might be required.
there is also another set of guard armor you can get by entering the caste grounds through the sewers. The entrance is near the slums area of the city IIRC.

Gave both 3 books, got the spell from first guy but the little girl took my books & never talked to me again. I waited for a few days & gave her all my flowers she never did her mage rage
Maybe you have to give her more than 3 books or all books for it to work? What does the quest for her say?
Try reverting to your last inn rest save if that is before giving her the books but not too far back. If you can give her all 5 real books then I would do that.
@ItsShatter I gave her just 3 books and it worked just fine, maybe she needs specific books to trigger the next step
Bro, check the morgue, because her grandparents need to be alive too. If one of them dies then the quest won’t continue. Happened to me but I resurrected them and problem fixed.

If u getting trouble and you doesnt have the spell. Complete all the quest for the guy and for the women. Escort them and then come back to the mens house and he will give u the spell, same with women. Hope i help you guys. ✊🏽
you also get the Forager tome from them after doing the escort quests
i got both death knell and howling blizzard in the waterfall cave chest,you can have forgerys made at rest stop for 6k each

Ok, love the guide and followed it step by step but when I gave fakes to old man I got no scroll.. tried a gift of flowers, still nothing…?
try gifting the NPCs items they like, which can be seen in the History tab of the game menu. Most of the times a Bunch of Flowers will do the trick, but as seen in your case, that doesn't always work. Maybe it has to do with vocation level in sorcerer? But I doubt it since that is not the case with any other maister skill that I know of.

There’s always NG+ to do it. This game lets you do NG+ as many times as you want and it doesn’t get more difficult.

Note: You do not need to put any outfit to talk with Mirdyn, just need to be a Sorcerer lvl 6,7 more rank for him accept you to enter his house.

This quest has severely pissed me off because every time I go to rest at the campfire for the last section of this quest. I keep getting attacked every single time, and my camping set keeps getting broken and I gotta keep going back to get a new one.
at that point just rest at the inn/sit on a bench at whatever town you go to. But yeah, i get your frustration.
so I gave Trysha the real copies of the books like I was supposed to, but the game seems to have glitched out and thought I gave her forgeries, so now I'm locked out of learning meteor on this playthrough it seems since I've already saved the game since learning Maelstrom...... I'm so sad now...........
Sorry I didn't see this sooner. You can actually go back to a save from the last inn rest and that sometimes will be far enough back.
Also, unless the game explicitly states that Trysha wasn't able to learn anything from the fakes you gave her, it is probably something else that is preventing you from getting the scroll.
I didnt got a mage master skill from Eini. I dont understand why.

That is certainly possible. I am max rank for sorcerer so that could explain why. Have you tried talking to him again?

I am not sure. Some vendors restock, so in that case maybe. I am not sure about open world spawns of items/chests.

I turned in all 5 books to the girl and copies to the guy. Got his maelstrom spell but the girl never gave me anything. Really annoying considering how many hours I put into that quest line lol
From what i did, i just waited an extra three days and she gave it to me.
I found another one of those tomes somewhere so i have 2, might. Not be lost if you sold one or something

If you didn't get the tower book while he was in jail you can still get it from him in the knowledge tomb

It's possible they can reappear after enough in-game days/time has passed but I am really not sure. Apparently you only need to give 3 of each book to the two NPCs to successfully complete their quests, but you may need to offer some other gifts to compensate for missing tomes.

Hey i gave myrddin 3 Fake grimores and received the 11k Gold and the Robe but i did Not get the spell any ideas ?

The old woman, for some reason will not give me the skill and I have no idea why
I recieved the enchanters alamanac but i cannot use it. "Use" is greyed out. Anybody an idea?
If you have not purchased the mage vocation from a vocation guild then that is why.

the sorcerer can heal like the mage?
No they cannot. They can more quickly recoup stamina though and have stronger offensive spells.

There is no secret guard guiding me to the back entrance, I need help please
You can probably get in during the day and go to the same spot to get the marcher armor set. then wear that to quickly go get the courtly attire, then bug out! hope this helps.

Went to Myrddin house the second time and he would not let me stole the book upstairs and went down the steps to see if he was home and he caught me. i waited like a week with no sign of him and them one of my pawns had the disease and killed the whole town. I waited another week in game and kept going back to his house in the right attire and vocation but still Myrddin was never home or would never appear. R.I.P
Probably need to revive him at a charnel house/morgue in a major city

DONT PANIC: not sure if anyone experienced this. Gave the fakes to Myrddin and he didn’t give his scroll. Thought I was screwed until I gave him a gift of a “bunch of flowers” then he gave the scroll

No not yet. Still not sure how to get it.
Its a new game plus item.
Forgery isn’t 100% necessary if you’re extremely patient, patient enough to wait until new game plus as all your skills carry over so you can do the quest again, giving the real books to the other person you didn’t give them too which also gets you all the rewards they give you for handing them the real books, takes a lot more effort but if you’re a completionist like me you’ll want everything 😂 (I checked if this was true by looking at my own skills after starting new game plus and I still had them along with the extra vocations so you can just go straight into being a sorcerer or whatever as soon as you reach an inn and a guild [inn for equipment, guild to change vocation]) hope this helps 👍

You should be able to revive her with a wakestone at the charnel house in Vernworth.

Try waiting at Vernworth for the Oxcart. Then ride it to Melve. That's what I did and he was there when I arrived!
I found him next to the first house you can get. But I already bought the Grimoire and porbably sell it. So I think I cannot get the spells but I will see whats happend if I finish it with 4 out of 5.

IMPORTANT TIP FOR THOSE WHO DIDN'T GET/MISSED MAELSTROM IN THEIR FIRST PLAYTHROUGH**
Keep the ring Trisha gives you!!!On my first playthrough i only got Meteoron because i didn't make any forgeries of the books and gave them all to Trysha before doing Myrddin's quest.
So on my second playthrough, I gave all the books to Myrddin since i already had Meteoron. HOWEVER, after i gave him the book he noticed that I had Meteoron and asked me who taught me that spell. I told him it was Trysha and he ended up getting mad and didn't give me Maelstrom. So i reloaded my game and this time i wore the ring Trysha gave me and then went to see Myriddin. He was shocked that Trysha gave me the ring and then asked me to come back in a few days. After a few days i came back to his house and he gave me Maelstrom!

Wow… this is such a long quest to get a skill that should be achieved just by reaching the highest level for the sorcerer vocation
I like the game but this is stupid and bad game design. I'm not spending hours doing all this to get the ultimate skills.
Apparently, if you do in the opposite order presented here - give the real tomes to the kid first, fake tomes to the checkpoint town sorcerer after- then wear the ring she hands you while you hand the douchecanoe sorcerer the duplicates and/or talk to him afterwards, he lets you explain why you did it and won't get mad over it later.
Having trouble with the magistrate question, the guard that’s supposed to talk to you and take you to the armour won’t appear and even if I go to the location the door is locked
