The SF3 Version of Xiang Tzu only have Heal , and can't choose when he want to enter Rage mode .

U can avoid his rope attack but for that ur combo must be long enough for the rope to disappear from ur leg,I escaped multi times and anibot,liberator hound can finish this boss,I've tried it myself and u don't need it to be on lvl 6@@zeussoulhd2169
I defeated him (the normal mode),with my lvl 2 champion of the pit set and lvl2 liberator set. Pit set can easily dodge the normal or charged shots(i literally got 0 damage from the air fire attack). With pit set it was 3-0 victory 4 times and 3-1 with liberator. Pit set's close range attacks successfully dodges Gideon's special attacks (sometimes)
Lord Gideon the bounty hunter aka the "Twilight maskman". I fought him and face his new deadly devastating abilities, he's much more stronger and powerful than in SFA. He literally cracks me up when he said "My name is Lord Gideon of house sinister!" 😅🤭🤭 Also he has Sarge's heavy kick that knocks back his opponents.
Lord Gideon can also be defeated by Void Anibot. By making him go towards the wall and even if he hooks you he will take damage with overtime and good thing about making him stuck in corner is that he can use the explosive shrapnel even if he does it it wont hit you
Anibot can still win against him, I just won multiple times against gideon. The one with the golden ticket as well. Just be sure to use Anibot's up and down shadow ability and make sure to max out the chaos bar then use his chaotic jump to deal more damage. And try to be close to him as possible because of his passive skill Thousand Eyes Aura. Correct me if I'm wrong but this is just how I beat him because I still haven't upgraded my Hound.
To defeat Gideon with "mortal" sets you need to be very lucky for him to not use 3-4 rain shots after the binding. If he just shoots you with charged shots it is possible. Also in my opinion this enhanced Aurora move is just unfair.
Hand of magMarion also works pretty well as long as you’re at least level 4. Gideon is surprisingly not as spammy as other bosses, and decent enough luck can let you beat him with fire aura and the bonus damage from teleport sword attacks.

Lvl4 anibot can win!!! Stategy- push gideon to the corner of the map. Dont use armor shadow move or chaotic jump. Use only up or back shadow move. Use critical attack only when gideon lying on the ground. Try to keep him down, even if chaos becomes full. Sometimes after binding explosion stop him from attacking or if he is immobile for long time he can't bind us😊😊😊Anibot still best (not against dft but still)

All you need is WILL TO WIN perks since it can help you beat him faster when you are at low, and when you enter haymaker, just spam top notch or heavy attack, since he does not fall down when you attack crits on him, when he attacked, you can just instantly deal huge crits and cancel his heal, in some random occasions, you do not deal damage to his front shot and explosive shot, and you can heal together too, in some random occasion.
Nekki please add you can roll when you get launched, the sf4 get it What does it cost you to add it here? You literally take more damage for free because that option of not being able to dodge on the ground without first taking damage makes it even more unfair.

How do you make him act like that? I was trying the same thing with similar perks and level 4 abdicator set and it felt like he knew I was trying to cheese him, wasted an hour or so doing same stuff over and over again
It is quite literally just luck. Not even Gideon can control how many times he shoots. At level 6, the upper shrapnel attack has a chance to repeat up to three times in a row.

His fire attacks aren't ranged and you still can't avoid that damn rope

For now, it is imposible to beat him. We can beat him only after Nekki fix the bug which can tied you even you have interrupted his attack.

In my opinion, one of the best sets to work against Gideon is COTP or Champion Of The Pit. It actually works really well against him.
