I've been visiting an Episcopal church in my area occasionally, and I intend to visit it more often in the future. It's a beautiful church with a loving community. I wish there were more young people, but I've come to realize and accept that if I want more young people to come to the Episcopal Church, I have to be the first.

What Attracted me to the Episcopal Church is their love for their neighbor and JESUS. I used to be a Traditionalist Roman Catholic. Before that I was a fundamentalist evangelical protestant.

ATTENTION ⚠️ non Episcopalians who are upset- if you are a Christian, you treat people with respect and kindness regardless of their beliefs. You can disagree. You can say why you disagree. You can have a civil debate about your beliefs. But please be nice. Some of the things in this comment section are just grossly unchristian and rude. We all love Jesus here, and he would want us to treat each other with respect ❤️

I think that recognizing that everyone is a child of God as well as recognizing that you are too as well is more important than trying to get everyone to agree with everything or trying to prove why it is that you might happen to be right.

So I didn't grow up Episcopal. I see a lot of young people leaving the church I grew up in because they don't want a church to give them a direction. They want to find their own direction and have a community that supports them in their direction. Can your church do that? I guess that's what I'm searching for.

Dude, become an Episcopalian. We are very much a hippie church in that we promote the usage of reason in theology. We are all promoted to find our own interpretation of God, while using tradition to mainly guide worship. We have a small number of universal beliefs (the holy trinity mainly) but beyond that, interpretation of God is up to the congregant.

Yes!! Check out the Episcopal church online and then visit some parishes near you. I was raised in a different Protestant faith, one that was way too fundamental as my understanding of God grew as a young adult. The Episcopal church is the spiritual home I was hoping was out there somewhere. Thank God! There is grace, joy and welcome. There is service and fellowship. It is deeply embracing and deeply accepting. I knew I had finally come to the right place when I realized anyone I invited to join me at church would be fully accepted, whether they were an old friend or whether they were living on the streets.

I'm Roman Catholic, but what I think is groovy of this chick is that she's clearly progressive socially and politically but very traditional in her views on the liturgy. We need more young people like that where I'm at!

I am preaty politically moderate and even though Episcopalism is a bit too much on the loosey goosy and progressive for my personal taste. (even though compared to other Ultra liberal progressive SJW Christian churches I don't think that they are the worse in that department) I still value the idea of not making certain types of people feel alienated or excluded and just for that I would personally consider giving it a chance and also despite not being an ultra liberal progressive/SJW type I also feel as if it wouldn't be too difficult for someone such as myself to get along with and have harmonious and cival relationships with those who happen to be members of the Episcopalian church.

*** They support abortion with no restrictions whatsoever. Note: They updated their stance on abortion with D083, here is 4 and 5:
    4. "Resolved, That the 80th General Convention affirms that all Episcopalians should be able to access abortion services and birth control with no restriction on movement, autonomy, type, or timing; and be it further"
    5. "Resolved, That the 80th General Convention understands that the protection of religious liberty extends to all Episcopalians who may need or desire to access, to utilize, to aid others in the procurement of, or to offer abortion services."
It is clear, they advocate for abortion WITHOUT ANY RESTRICTIONS. And they even add protection of religious liberty to those who "aid others in the procurement of, or to offer abortion services."
In my humble opinion, this is incredibly evil, and I suggest nobody be a member of any organization that supports the killing of babies.

Sometimes abortions saves lives. I agree that it shouldn't be used for careless reasons, but if someone's fetus has died within them, then it needs to come out.

Repent to God And Genuinely Ask For His Forgiveness! @@mosesking2923 please research the definition of "church" and "Christian"
      Also please consider Mathew 22 : 34 - 40.
      Also Mathew 25 : 31 - 46.
You will hopefully find that JESUS tells us exactly what the qualities af a Christian are. The separation of the sheep from the goats is very specific as well. You are only condemned for failing to follow the two greatest commandments.
Please explain how Homosexuality, even how our church, violates either of those commandments because the law and the prophets hang on them.
I tell you, those are the two reasons that I left a hate filled church to become a member of one that practices what JESUS actually requires. The church is not an exclusive club for the well but a hospital for the sick. Everyone is in need of the great physician not just a privileged few. That is why we welcome all. No one is ever turned away for any reason. We all are spiritually sick.

    • @mosesking2923

@@Episcopalianacolyte Jesus condemned sin, as he told the adulterous woman to “go and sin no more.” The church is not inclusive and doesn’t need to be. The church is EXCLUSIVE to sin. That is clear. Unnatural sins like sodomy is an unnatural aberration which must be cured. The church is a hospital but cannot help patients who refuse to be treated. Cherry picking two passages doesn’t change the stance of Christ and the church on unrepentant sin. “If you do not repent, you will all likewise perish” - Luke 13:3
