      That is my next plan! But getting enough water is going to be a headache! And or getting them somewhere is the other headache!

    I have a newer model which I couldn't find spare parts for !!
    Where do you guys find spare parts for those great engines

    • @leeslisters
      @leeslisters  3 месяца назад +2

      It’s a case of just asking about long enough to see what is about. I have been collecting this range for around 16 years so have built up a fair stock of parts but occasionally I still need to get parts made or borrow it off another engine to try something.
      The Facebook page that I run is a good source of information and often parts appear on there. The link is in my bio

    Seen a lot of engines and Lister is always a sweet, smooth running engine . A lot of English engines are.

      They are a firm favourite of mine I must admit! Haha they knew how to make a good engine back in the day!

    Excellent collection, really nice set of engines. Did they make hopper cooled variants of all the sizes as well?

    • @leeslisters
      @leeslisters  4 месяца назад

      Thank you!
      They made the petrol ones in Canadian ball hoppers 1913-14 time across the HC, JC, LC, NC & RC. Then made the English ball hoppers usually later on 1914-21 time H, J & L. Then when they went Recardo head in 1924 they started brining back the hopper cooled ones across nearly the whole range with the style 3 vaporiser but by that time the P & Q was more or less dead in water. JH, KH, LH, MH or LHM as a later version, & 87 NH and 83 RH was made in a straight hopper from memory and I’m not actually sure if any Petrol Paraffin ones in the larger size was actually made at all in hopper version as the L and LHM by this time was up to 10.5hp in 1/2 the frame size and cost plus diesel was starting to take over so the larger frames was slowly phased out and stopped

      @@leeslistersThank you very much. I will get to looking on Google for those. I would really like a big vertical lister in the future. Just need to wait an see what shows up. How rare are the largest ones?

    • @leeslisters
      @leeslisters  4 месяца назад

      You want to head to my Facebook page. Link on my channel description.
      The larger ones are quite few and far between. Remember you are dealing with an engine that is around a tonne in weight and usually 6ft heigh when mounted on a decent trolley. The hopper cooled ones are very very rare

      @@leeslistersthanks that's fair enough, I will check it out. I currently have quite a few engines including a 10.5hp Ruston AP just would like to add a big vertical to the collection.

      It is a page just dedicated to the H-R range. Worth a look!!
      I use to own a 10.5hp AP. They are a fair old lump!!

    Great collection, is their not a PE type in the range that isn't in that line up ?

    • @leeslisters
      @leeslisters  Месяц назад +1

      Yes there is a PE or PL in the range but this is a variance in the range a bit like the JL and the hopper cooled engines. It’s part of the range but not directly part of the original range that they set out to make

    That’s a great lineup. I could hear every word over the wind noise and the video was not spoiled because of it, I’ve watched far worse!

    A great collection What a pity your commentary was totally spoiled because of wind noise in the microphone.

      A real shame Lee doesn’thave a multi-million follower channel and has to film on his phone rather than a camera worth thousands.

    • @leeslisters
      @leeslisters  4 месяца назад

      Thank you!
      Yes the wind is an issue. Unfortunately it couldn’t be helped in this situation and didn’t appear as windy when stood there but the microphone obviously has picked it up differently. I am looking at buying a plug in microphone for this situation but they aren’t cheap for what they are so one will probably have to wait for now

      Thank you Jim! It took a lot of doing! It wouldn’t have been possible with out kindness of others for sure!
      I really want to try but I’m not holding my breath! My shed isn’t far away but 8 runs to and from isn’t practical! Unless I can borrow a trailer big enough to get them all on….

      😂😂 when folk see your dedication to the product range I think it makes it a bit easier to separate with their engine knowing it’s going to the right man. I was thinking you might have one on display, the full fleet would really be showing off. I’ll be there with my freshly restored war finish d and my Ruston ap4. Say hello if you see me.

      It maybe does to be fair for them. I’ve had some luck too to be fair so that’s helped!

      Nothing I can do about it I’m afraid. It never seemed as windy when we was there but my phone obviously thought differently
